Mosey on Down to the Corral: A Day at Mayan Dude Ranch

Start your day with a trail ride or hayride to the Cowboy Breakfast cookout, where you'll enjoy the biggest and best breakfast on the trail. Feast on eggs by the dozen, hash browns, thick-sliced bacon, cowboy sausage, oven-fresh biscuits, and southern grits. The trail boss always has a special tortilla-wrapped concoction for you to savour, accompanied by plenty of cowboy coffee and juices.

Upon returning to the corral, embark on a morning trail ride into the hills or down to the lush Medina riverside. Guests enjoy two trail rides daily—one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Trail riding at the ranch is single file at a walk, the best way to take in the Texas Hill Country scenery. Our authentic cowboys are happy to answer any questions about riding, the ranch, or even philosophy.

Lunch is served poolside or in the dining room. The new Cowboy Dome Pavilion next to the pool invites you to enjoy a cool drink, listen to some good old Country-Western music, or relax in the shade with new friends.

After lunch, choose from more horseback riding, swimming, various contests, sunbathing, or simply snoozing. Alternatively, you can enjoy the peaceful tranquillity of the Medina River.

Each evening at Mayan Dude Ranch features its own unique blend of fun and food, from barbecues at the Riverside Gazebo—featuring brisket, ribs, or tenderloin—to Texas-sized steaks at Hicksville, our little western town. Occasionally, we dine in the dining room, offering a variety of Continental and Domestic cuisines with a range of salads and side dishes.

After a world-class dinner, enjoy nightly entertainment, which might include a country dance, a play, or a musical in the dining room.
