Today, you’ll discover why Prague is often considered one of Europe’s most enchanting capitals. Join your guide for a walking tour through the historic heart of the city, taking in the characterful Old Town, the famous Charles Bridge and the charming streets of Malá Strana. You’ll also see the impressive castle district, home to St Vitus Cathedral and the historic Royal Palace. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore at your own pace, and this evening you may choose to round off the day with an optional buffet dinner river cruise.

Today is yours to enjoy as you please in Prague, whether that means more sightseeing, a long lunch in a charming square or simply soaking up the city’s atmosphere. Alternatively, you can join an optional excursion to Dresden (Germany), a beautiful Baroque city on the River Elbe. Lovingly restored after the devastation of World War Two, Dresden is full of architectural treasures, including the magnificent Frauenkirche, the elegant Altstadt and the striking Zwinger complex. After a day of fascinating history and grand scenery, return to Prague for one final evening in the Czech capital.

This morning, leave Prague behind and journey south through the romantic landscapes of Bohemia, where forests, medieval towns and hilltop castles create a wonderfully scenic backdrop. Crossing into Austria, you’ll arrive in the elegant imperial city of Vienna. Join a guided introduction, get acquainted with the city’s grand palaces, historic cathedral and refined atmosphere shaped by the Habsburg Empire. Highlights include the famous Hofburg and the maze of streets in the Innere Stadt. Later, perhaps do as the locals do and pause for coffee and cake in one of Vienna’s legendary coffee houses.

Spend today enjoying more of Vienna at your own pace, whether that means strolling elegant boulevards, browsing stylish shops or lingering in a traditional café over a slice of cake that would make any sensible diet quietly give up. There is also the chance to join an optional excursion to the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, the Habsburgs’ lavish summer residence. One of Austria’s most treasured landmarks, this grand palace is steeped in imperial history and is said to have once echoed with the music of a young Mozart.

Say farewell to Vienna as you travel onward into Slovakia and stop in its charming capital, Bratislava. Set along the Danube and shaped by a mix of Central European influences, this compact city is full of character, with handsome Baroque buildings, pretty old streets and impressive churches. After time to explore and soak up its atmosphere, continue into Hungary and arrive in Budapest, one of Europe’s great riverside capitals. Later this afternoon, enjoy a Danube river cruise, offering a wonderful first glimpse of the city’s landmark-filled skyline from the Danube.

This morning, discover Budapest on an introductory tour of this remarkable city divided by the Danube. On the Buda side, admire the historic castle district, medieval streets, Matthias Church and the sweeping views from Fisherman’s Bastion. Across the river in Pest, the mood shifts to grand boulevards, bustling cafés and striking landmarks, including the Gothic Parliament building and the monumental Heroes’ Square. After free time to explore further, this evening you can choose to experience an optional folklore dinner and show, with traditional Hungarian music, dancing and hearty local cuisine.

After a memorable journey through three captivating capitals and the heart of Central Europe, it is time to head home. Transfer to the airport with a suitcase full of memories and fly back to the UK.
