DAY 01 - 05: BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA

Buenos Aires is a pulsating, passionate, cosmopolitan city. The combination of rich architectural and cultural heritage, modern creative energy, electric nightlife, unique traditions, a vibrant arts scene, extensive parks, and warm, friendly hosts makes it one of the world’s most exciting capitals.

Sensual, nostalgic, and fiendishly difficult to learn, tango emerged in the city's portside neighbourhoods in the mid-19th century and has since conquered the world. Today, Buenos Aires is a place of pilgrimage for tango dancers from all over, and the dance is still very much alive - danced by the young and young-at-heart well into the early hours every night of the week.

The city's cosmopolitan, multicultural identity was forged in a melting pot of cultures, from native American and colonial Spanish roots, to the influences of immigration from Italy, France, Great Britain, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. You'll see this eclectic mix of influences in the city's architecture, food and in the character of its people. And while Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan city always looking towards the latest trends, we also have passionate pride for our history and tradition.

Long seen as Latin America's capital of culture, Buenos Aires has almost 300 theatres, 380 bookstores and 160 museums, and some of them will take your breath away. The Teatro Colón is one of the world's best opera houses, with outstanding acoustics and beautiful interiors, the Ateneo Grand Spendid is considered one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world, and you'll find creative, artistic expression not only in the many galleries and cultural centres, but in the streets themselves.

DAY 05 - 09: RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL

Incredible natural attractions, spontaneity that transforms everything into party and world-famous iconic monuments - all that makes the city of Rio de Janeiro an unforgettable and unique destination.

Besides the most famous attractions, like Christ the Redeemer, the art deco statue of Jesus Christ and Sugarloaf Mountain, a mountain range, the city also has many nature, adventure, religious, historic and cultural spots to visit, such as walks in the Botanical Garden and rides on the Santa Teresa Tram, visits to the Metropolitan Cathedral and to the Museum of Modern Art, and the possibility of taking off from Pedra Bonita’s ramp and flying over the city.

Sports are also an important feature of the cariocas’ culture (those who are born in the city). Its 90 km of beaches are spot to play volleyball, soccer and footvolley. Rio is the largest urban climbing center, presenting all levels of difficulty mountain climbing, such as Pedra da Gavea and Bico do Papagaio.

One of the best ways to enjoy Rio is on foot. There are many options besides the traditional Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon sidewalks. Near there, Rodrigo de Freitas Lake is one of the city’s main leisure areas, with beach stands, playgrounds, skateboarding tracks, restaurants and mountains and forests views. Preferably, go on a weekend, when it is calmer.

And if you are visiting the Sugarloaf Mountain, remember that there is not only the tram. Spare an hour to take a walk towards the sea and you will see the Vermelha Beach, squeezed between the mountains. Seize the opportunity and check if there are climbers on the mountains. When facing the sea, look for, at the left side, the Cláudio Coutinho trail and go for a walk by the sea.

You will not regret it – the buildings disappear at the first curve and you will only see the sea, the mountain, the birds and the trees, as if you were not in a big city.
