DAY 01 - 03: BOSTON, USA
If America doesn't 'do' history, then they should perhaps let Boston know. Boston, a popular USA multi-centre stop off, is the cultural hub on the east coast in Massachusetts and drenched with History. A particular tea party helped shape the present day United States of America. Grand claims have been made of Massachusetts’ capital of Boston throughout its history.
They are reflected in many of Boston’s nicknames: ‘Cradle of Modern America,’ ‘Hub of the Solar System’ and ‘Athens of America.’ However, in the beginning, when the settlement in Boston took root in 1624, it was simply called ‘Tri-mountain’, given its location beside three hills on the mouth of the Charles River. This was before Boston was named after the small English town in Lincolnshire, the original home of several founding Puritan families.
A big university town, Boston can be refreshingly highbrow, but it's also unpretentious. Its proud Irish and Italian communities are as huge a part of the city's make-up as its sports fanaticism or its artistic leanings.
DAY 03 - 05: PORTLAND, USA
With its heady mixture of artistic and outdoor adventures, our region is stylish and sophisticated, yet remains genuine and unpretentious—a place where grey flannel and plaid flannel can coexist. And underlying the latest tech, fashion, and culinary scene is a deep sense of continuity. We invite you to experience the character of a region that blends the present with a very special past.
DAY 05 - 07: BAR HARBOR, USA
Visitors from around the world come to Bar Harbor, the gateway to Acadia National Park, for its amazing scenery. They return again and again to enjoy the abundance of experiences that can be found here.
DAY 07 - 09: WHITE MOUNTAINS, USA
The White Mountains region offers visitors one memorable experience after another. We've got popular and legendary attractions, easy walks to strenuous hikes, Donald-Ross designed golf courses, crystal clear mountain lakes and streams for swimming and boating, and sandy lakeside beaches just perfect for lying in the sun. The scenery is gorgeous, and you can see it everywhere from the seat of your car, to a bicycle seat or the back of a horse.,
Shopping? You know we've got shopping: tax-free shopping! Bargains are all around you, and there's antiquing, live theatre and entertainment, and more –a lot more... you'll need a whole season's worth of vacations just to scratch the surface!
DAY 09 - 11: LAKE GEORGE, CANADA
The majestic Adirondack forests overlooking Lake George are bathed in a striking swathe of colour every fall. These deep reds, golden yellows, and apricot-oranges are one chapter of the Lake George Area’s Original Vacation that must be read. Lake George hotels are open to travellers searching for a cosy bed during their autumn adventure. Fall is bursting with things to do that celebrate the season. Lake George restaurants proudly serve local, autumn-themed beers. Historic steamboats, silent hiking trails, and placid paddles on the water reveal fall foliage that will never be forgotten. This Adirondack rainbow of leaves won’t be around forever.
