DAY 01: DENVER, USA

Flight from London to Denver. When you have arrived pick up your car from the airport and drive to your hotel. Enjoy this evening at leisure.

DAY 02: DENVER, USA

Denver - the Mile High City-- Visit the State Capitol Building where you will find the marker that shows you exactly one mile above sea level! Nearby you will find the beautiful Red Rock Park and Amphitheatre--voted the #1 best Spot for outdoor concerts in the USA.

DAY 03: DENVER - COLORADO SPRINGS, USA

After breakfast start your journey to Colorado Springs, the journey only takes 1 hour so will give you plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the day when you have arrived.

DAY 04: COLORADO SPRINGS, USA

Visit the Garden of the Gods, considered to be the Most Beautiful City Park in the USA and walk among the huge red rocks with Pikes Peak as a background. Take the Manitou Springs Cog Railway to the top of 14,000+ foot high Pikes Peak. You just might find yourself on the highest railway in North America!

DAY 05: COLORADO SPRINGS - CANON CITY, USA

This morning take one of the old mining roads from Cripple Creek down to Cañon City to take a ride on the Royal Gorge Scenic Railway as you follow the Arkansas River through the narrow canyon and back. We suggest the lunch tour as the food is excellent. Spend the afternoon touring the Royal Gorge Attraction where you can walk across the world’s Highest Suspension Bridge and then experience the bungee sling ride out over the canyon where you swing out over 1000 feet above the river below.

DAY 06: CANON CITY ALAMOSA, USA

Continue your journey to Alamosa; Follow the Arkansas River to the San Luis Valley. Here you can visit two attractions. The first is possibly one of the strangest attractions you would expect to find in Colorado--an Alligator Farm. The second is one of the Newest National Parks in the USA--the Great Sand Dunes National Park, dedicated in the fall of 2004.

DAY 07: ALAMOSA - DURANGO, USA

This morning travel over the Wolf Creek Pass in the San Juan Mountains and then through the National Forest as you continue on to the Gold and Silver mining community of Durango. When you have arrived check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

DAY 08: DURANGO, USA

If you travel early you can catch the last train departure for Silverton at 10AM. If not, then a visit to the historic community is still a great experience. There are other activities in the area that will keep you busy for the day as well...relaxing in the hot springs in Durango or Pagosa Springs, river rafting, jeep touring, mountain bike rentals, and more.

DAY 09: DURANGO - MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK, USA

The drive today is short, but the visit will be one of the most memorable as you spend the day visiting Mesa Verde National Park. This was the first park in the US Park System actually set aside to preserve man-made structures--the cliff dwellings built by the Ancestral Publoans between 800-1000 years ago. These are among the oldest buildings you can visit in North America. And the overnight will be inside the park at the Far View Lodge--on a clear day you can see over 100 miles into New Mexico to the south.

DAY 10: MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK - MOAB, USA

Venture into the State of Utah to Moab to visit the Arches National Park. Here you will find the largest collection of natural arches found anywhere in the world! We also suggest an evening drive to the Island in the Sky district of the nearby Canyon lands National Park to see one of the best sunsets anywhere!

DAY 11: MOAB - GRAND JUNCTION, USA

Return to Colorado to visit the Colorado National Monument. This park has been called the most Serene of all the National Parks or Monuments and you are certain to find a spot where you can get off by yourself and just reflect on the beauty around you. You will also find this to be one of the top regions in the world for exploration of dinosaur bones and fossils--with some excellent local museums to show you what has been discovered in the region.

DAY 12: GRAND JUNCTION - GLENWOOD SPRINGS, USA

Follow the Colorado River into Colorado to one of the more “funky” communities--that of Glenwood Springs. Here you can tour the Glenwood Caverns, raft or bike through the Glenwood Canyon and then end the day with a relaxing evening in the world’s largest thermal heated outdoor pool--The Glenwood Springs.

DAY 13: GLENWOOD SPRINGS - BOULDER, USA

This morning check out your hotel and drive to Boulder. Follow along one of Colorado’s Scenic By-ways, The Peak to Peak Highway, as you travel south from Estes Park to the community of Nederland. From here you follow down the Boulder Canyon and into the community of Boulder. You will find plenty to keep you busy here, including a visit to a Russian Tea House (presented to the community as a Sister City Gift) and a visit to the largest tea factory in North America (Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory). You will also find one of the largest Modern Western Art Galleries at the nearby Leaning Tree Printing Company.

DAY 14: BOULDER - DENVER - LONDON, UK

After breakfast make your way to Denver where you will need to drop your car off at the airport before checking in.

DAY 15: LONDON, UK

Arrive back into the UK after a fantastic holiday.
