Start in the state of Alabama where you will spend 4 nights visiting 3 different areas and exploring the southern hospitality of Alabama. Your next 4 nights are spent in Mississippi where you will visit 3 different areas. Known as the "Birthplace of America's Music," Mississippi provides visitors with musical experiences in multiple genres. Whether you are seeking soul-filled gospel or blues, foot-stomping old-time string music, or stimulating jazz and symphony, Mississippi is the one stop for your listening pleasure. You will finish of your fly-drive with 5 nights in Louisiana exploring all that Cajun country has to offer.

DAY 01: ATLANTA, USA
Fly from the UK to Atlanta. When you have arrived pick up your car from the airport and drive to Birmingham approximately two hours where your first hotel is located. Check in to your Birmingham hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
DAY 02: BIRMINGHAM, USA
Spend the day exploring the attractions of Birmingham 'The Magic City'. Visit the world renowned Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, the Jazz Hall of Fame and Birmingham Museum of Art, have lunch at a traditional Southern tea room or head to Red Mountain Park for outdoor adventure. In the evening, enjoy live music venues and award winning cuisine in one of three entertainment districts including Five Points South.
DAY 03: MONTGOMERY, USA
A two hour drive from Birmingham brings you to Alabama's capital city Montgomery. Visit the Capitol Building, Dr Martin Luther King Jr's Church and Parsonage and Rosa Parks Museum. Have lunch by the Alabama River and take a trip on the 19th century riverboat the Harriott II (check schedule in advance). Literary buffs will be wowed by the Fitzgerald Museum. The Alley entertainment district or Old Cloverdale are great venues for dining in the evening.
DAY 04: MONTGOMERY - MOBILE, USA
After a night in Montgomery it’s time to head to Mobile. Once called the Paris of the South, this city has long been the cultural center of the Gulf Coast and you'll find an authentic experience found nowhere else in the southern United States. Upon arrival check into your hotel and enjoy the afternoon at leisure to explore one of the city's many attractions including The Carnival Museum, Gulfquest and the Lo-Da entertainment district. For an outdoors treat, take an Eco-safari at Five Rivers Delta.
DAY 05: MOBILE - JACKSON, USA
After your 1 night stay in Mobile drive to your next destination, Jackson. Here you will spend 1 night, so once you have arrived and check into your hotel ensure you enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
DAY 06: JACKSON - VICKSBURG, USA
With Vicksburg only an hour away, ensure you spend the day in Jackson the capital of Mississippi, visit a number of fine museums that focus on the conflict and the profound change that followed. The exhibit at the Old Capitol Museum displays photographs and film footage of this tumultuous time, while museums such as the Smith Robertson, housed in the first school for black children from the area, examine the struggles and achievements of African-Americans in art and literature. A stroll around the Farish Street Historical District presents many opportunities to view old houses, churches and other buildings, many of which were built by former slaves.
DAY 07 - 08: VICKSBURG, USA
Sitting high atop a bluff overlooking the Mississippi and Yazoo Rivers, the city of Vicksburg was the setting of a bloody 47 day siege during the Civil War. The site of this epic battle is now Vicksburg National Military Park, preserving original fortifications and the U.S.S. Cairo, an ironclad gunboat that once prowled the waters of the Mississippi River. Vicksburg is also the place where Coca-Cola was first bottled, a fact that is happily immortalized at the Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum.
DAY 09: VICKSBURG - NATCHEZ, USA
Today you will make the 2 hour drive to Natchez where you will spend 1 night. When you arrive why not Head out to tour a few of the majestic mansions that have drawn thousands of visitors to Natchez over the years. Enjoy the evening at leisure.
DAY 10: NATCHEZ - LAKE CHARLES, USA
The city of Lake Charles overlooks a freshwater lake with the only white-sand inland beach along the Gulf Coast. Local legends say the pirate Jean Lafitte made Lake Charles, Louisiana his hideaway and left behind hidden treasure on the shores of the lake.
DAY 11: LAKE CHARLES - LAFAYETTE, USA
After a great night in Lake Charles it’s time to head to Lafayette, where you can enjoy the afternoon/evening at your own leisure.
DAY 12: LAFAYETTE, USA
You have a full day here to explore Lafayette or you could visit Nearby Lake Martin Nature Reserve which is a place where land turns to water and where, in the spring, there's a huge abundance of birdlife including egrets, herons and spoonbills, as well as scores of alligators. For a real taste of the local landscape though, take a thrilling swamp tour to see sunbathing alligators relaxing amongst cypress trees dripping with Spanish moss.
DAY 13: LAFAYETTE - BATON ROUGE, USA
After breakfast check out your hotel and continue east to Baton Rouge. You have 2 nights here so check into your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
DAY 14: BATON ROUGE, USA
