Our Modern Slavery Act Commitment

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the P&p Group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2016. The statement sets out the steps the P&P Group and its subsidiaries have taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our supply chains or in any part of our business.

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

The P&P Group has a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business dealings and relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not tolerated in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

The P&P Group is also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery, consistent with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We take our legal, moral and ethical obligation to combat modern slavery very seriously.

We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and as part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against modern slavery, and we expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we encourage all employees to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any parts of our business or supply chains. We aim to encourage openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith under the policy. Training on this policy and on the risk that the business faces from modern slavery in its supply chains, forms part of the induction process for all individuals who work for us and our zero tolerance approach to modern slavery must be communicated to all suppliers, contractors and business partners at the outset of our business relationship with them.

We encourage businesses throughout our supply chain to adopt and enforce similar policies in their own operations. Furthermore, we seek to identify and do business with companies that have aligned standards consistent with our own, including working to cascade these expectations throughout their own supply chain.

Management at all levels are responsible for ensuring those reporting to them are aware of the issue of modern slavery and understand and comply with this policy. The prevention and reporting of modern slavery in any part of its business or supply chains is the responsibility of all those working for the Group or under its control. Group employees are required to avoid any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy.

In the coming year the P&P Group will be further reviewing its supply chain and incorporating additional reporting policies when contracting with all new suppliers, in addition to ongoing training for employees. As a company we will incorporate the right to terminate any future contracts if this commitment is breached.

We will be annually revisiting this statement to provide an updated account of our company’s efforts to combat this global problem.
