Wildlife
South America really is the place to come to if you want to see some wonderful wildlife in some of the most stunning surroundings you’ll ever encounter.
We only have room here to present some of the highlights the countries of this captivating continent offer, but if these don’t whet your appetite, we’re not sure what will!
In Brazil there’s the amazing area of Pantanal, the world’s largest wetlands, home to Capybara and Caiman; in Peru there’s Colca Canyon, twice as deep as North America’s Grand Canyon, and home to the magnificent Andean condors; in Argentina there’s the superb Valdes Peninsula nature reserve, home at various times to sea lions, penguins and killer whales; in Bolivia there’s the wonderful Madidi National Park, stretching across some 7000 square miles, and in which you can see – if you have enough time! – 9000 species of birds, amongst many other amazing animals.
And talking of national parks, Colombia actually has 58 of them to choose from, so you’re certainly going to be spoiled for choice there – just as you will in Venezuela, which has 43! Altogether, South America has over 300 national parks!
And then there’s the magnificent of the mighty Amazon of course, wending its way across almost the entire width of the continent – a great sight in itself, but one which is always accompanied by visions of the most exotic and exciting wildlife.
How can you possibly resist? Wherever you go in South America, you’re going to have a really wild time, and a holiday experience you’ll never forget. Contact us if you can’t find the ideal package for you online, and we’ll find it – for unbeatable prices.
