The semicircular waterfall at the heart of this site is some 80 m high and 2,700 m in diameter and is situated on a basaltic line spanning the border between Argentina and Brazil. The falls alone are a wonder and visitors have said that "words do not describe the beauty" and “The most amazing scenery I've ever seen,” This certainly is a very special place.
Made up of many cascades producing vast sprays of water, it is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. The surrounding subtropical rainforest has over 2,000 species of vascular plants and is home to the typical wildlife of the region: tapirs, giant anteaters, howler monkeys, ocelots, jaguars and caymans.
Many fun and enjoyable boat rides are available at the falls, including a ride where you'll be joining in the laughter whilst being absolutely soaked. Rafting and river trips are also available here, which will help you maximise the opportunity to see some of the beautiful animals that call this place home.
If you fancy seeing the wonder of the falls and beyond, many helicopter flights are available. This will ensure that the holiday snaps that you bring home are amongst the best that can be achieved!
