Mauritius is a magical Island is only 30 miles by 40 miles and yet is without a doubt one of the most stunning places in the world to visit. Mauritius is situated in the warm and crystal clear Indian Ocean.
Mauritius is a tropical paradise that is surrounded by sandy white beaches. There are many elegant hotels in Mauritius offering wonderful spas, fine dining, excellent water sports, great kids clubs and fantastic gold courses.
Mauritius is blessed with miles and miles of gorgeous beaches. Most of the island is surrounded by coral reef, and the marine life is fantastic: you can go snorcalling, diving or deep sea fishing, and you’ll most likely see molluscs, turtles, dolphins and hundreds of fish. Waterspouts and waterskiing are also popular, and easily organised through most of the hotels in Mauritius. Or you can simply soak up the sunshine on one of the many beautiful beaches.
One of the highlights of having a holiday in Mauritius is got to be the Cuisine. You can enjoy an array of cross-cultural cuisine, from Creole and European to Chinese and Indian. Seafood is obviously a speciality, as are Curries. Some staple favourites in Mauritius include rougaille, a mederterainin dish with fish or mixed meat and tomatoes. Wine can be expensive as it is usually imported from South Africa or France, but the local beer called (Phoenix or Blue Marlin) is cheap and the latter is very potent! Because of the local sugar cane production, there are of course a number of locally produced rums.
