Orlando – home to sun, fun and thrills
If when you hear Orlando the first thing you think of is the world famous Disney World, you’re not the only one! Though the sunny capital of Florida has so much more to offer. Whether you’re looking for an epic nightlife or epic thrills – make sure Orlando is on your bucket list.

Attracting more than 60 million visitors every year, it’s safe to say the capital is the ideal holiday destination. Home to more than a dozen theme parks including Universal Orlando, the Magic Kingdom and awesome water parks, your days are sure to be adrenaline packed.

If you’re looking for a more relaxed vibe, take advantage of the legendary public golf courses like Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf, or The Mall at Millenia where you’re sure to find top American brands, and not to mention a few bargains.

Once the sun sets the fun doesn’t stop, Orlando’s night life is second to none. Catering to every taste and budget you can discover luxury cocktail bars like Mathers Social Gathering, or for something more low key there’s plenty of breweries featuring local ales like RockPit Brewing.

Know before you go – top tips for making the most of your getaway

1.     Plan an itinerary – like most US capital cities, Orlando is HUGE. Home to over 309,000 people it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the things to see and do. Plan out your journey or speak to one of our experts ahead of time to make the most of your trip.

2.     Prepare for the weather – Florida is called the Sunshine State for a reason! With lows of 22 degrees in winter and highs of 33 degrees in summer, make sure you pack your sunscreen and stay hydrated (definitely whilst exploring the theme parks). We recommend packing a portable fan for your trip – especially during the summer months.

3.     Make dinner reservations in advance – During the height of tourist season restaurants in and around the theme parks get booked up quickly. To avoid disappointment, secure your place ahead of time to get ahead of the waiting lists.

4.     Choose the right days for the parks – a common mistake traveller’s make when visiting the iconic theme parks is to visit on busy days, and if you’ve ever been to Alton Towers or Thorpe Park in the UK you know how busy they can get! We recommend visiting during the weekday to skip the worst of the queues.

5.     Take advantage of the transport – travelling around Orlando is affordable, convenient, and sometimes complimentary! Do your research ahead of time to make the most of your days. As with some other major US cities, getting from A to B on foot isn’t the easiest, so we definitely recommend making use of public transport.
