Day 1 London – San Francisco
Fly direct from London to San Francisco, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in North America. Upon arrival make your own way to your hotel in San Francisco and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2 San Francisco
You have a full day to explore this fantastic city so why not pre-book one of our many fantastic trips (see things to do)!
Day 3 San Francisco
Your last full day in San Francisco can be enjoyed at your leisure
Day 4 San Francisco - Sonoma
Check out your hotel and Pick up your car from the Union Square car depot. Your drive to Sonoma Valley will take approximately 1 hour. Apon arrivals check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at Leisure.
Day 5 - 6 Sonoma
Start in Healdsburg and learn about all things wine at the Sonoma County Wine Library. Head south to Santa Rosa, Sonoma County's largest city; admire the Shasta daisies and Santa Rosa plums of a renowned horticulturalist at the Luther Burbank Home & Gardens. Continue on to the Sonoma Valley. Visit Jack London State Historic Park and hike the same trails the author and resident strode on the northeast flank of Sonoma Mountain. Relax, post hike, with a movie at the restored Sebastiani Theatre in downtown Sonoma. And don't ignore Sonoma's famous cheeses; try the Sonoma Cheese Factory for starters.
Day 7 Sonoma to Fort Bragg
The route to Fort Bragg leads through Calistoga. Visit Old Faithful Geyser of California with its rising steam and bubbling hot water pools. On the way to Mendocino you will find the Golden Eye Winery. Taste their famous Pinot noir or how about Zinfandel at Edmeads Winery? The large variety of wineries along the way offers something for everybody’s taste.
Day 8 Fort Bragg to Redding
The wine trail leads today via Humboldt Redwoods state park towards Eureka. Drive thru the famous tree along the way at Myers Flat. A stop at the Loleta Cheese factory invites you to a tour, sample some of their cheese and enjoy a picnic in their botanical gardens, Continue to Redding and visit one of the local wineries.
Day 9 Redding to Grants Pass
Depart from Redding via Lake Shasta to Grants Pass. Why not pre-book a rafting trip through the picturesque Hellgate Canyon on Oregon’s Rogue River waits. Enjoy wildlife viewing, a few splashes in the rapids and gourmet appetizers paired with local wine.
Day 10 Grants Pass to Roseburg
Depart from Grants Pass in the morning to Rose-Burg. On the way, you have the chance to visit Crater Lake, a deep lake surrounded by high cliffs with its two picturesque islands and a violent volcanic past.
Day 11 Roseburg to Portland
Today the journey continues on to Cottage Grove with its famous Covered Bridges and then via Eugene and Salem to Portland. Enjoy the variety of restaurants and bars that Portland has to offer at night.
Day 12 Portland
Just outside Portland lies the Willamette wine country where you can pre-book a guided tour. On the half day exploration, a naturalist guide will acquaint you with the area. You will be picked-up at the hotel and given information about the rich ecology of the region, while are each stop, you will dig a little deeper to explore the local winemaking history, the fine art of viticulture and Oregon’s commitment to sustainable farming practices.
Day 13 Portland to London
Drop your car at the airport and check in for your overnight flight home.
Day 14 London
Arrive back into the UK after a fantastic holiday.
