Day by Day
Day 1 London – Washington
Fly direct from London to Washington DC, the nation’s Capital. Once you arrive in Washington make your own way to your hotel where the remainder of the day is free to relax after your flight.
Day 2 Washington DC
Spend your day exploring all the historic sights of Washington DC. Some of the musts include the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and best of the White House. You may also want to visit the great shops and fantastic restaurants of the Georgetown area.
Day 3 Washington DC
Your final day in DC can be spent on your FREE bus tour - The Big Bus Tour takes you to all of Washington's famous landmarks and reveals the nation's capital's fascinating history. Choose from a 24 or 48-hour hop-on hop-off pass and 4 tour routes with more than 40 stops, such as the National Mall, the Pentagon, the Arlington Cemetery and the White House. You can experience all four loops with the All Loops ticket. On your ride you may get to know the history of this city thanks to the fun and instructive explanation. The hop-on, hop-off ticket allows you the possibility to get off the bus to visit attractions. Buses run regularly and getting back on the tour is easy.
The Red Loop reaches the locations that are emblematic of the capital. The White House, U.S. Capitol, Air and Space Museum, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial are just some among many the iconic landmarks. The Blue Loop goes across the Potomac River to the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. The journey across the Potomac provides some fantastic views and photo opportunities and deserves special attention. The Yellow Loop also crosses the city's historic centre, passing by the famous Ford Theatre before moving out towards Georgetown and its old world charm. The Green Loop is a traditional trolley ride up the sinuous slope that leads to the National Cathedral.
Day 4 Washington DC – Philadelphia
Take your Amtrak train service from Washington Union Station to Philadelphia 30th Street Station that will take approximately 1hr & 50mins. Upon arrival make your own way to your hotel where the remainder of the day is free to explore Philadelphia at your leisure.
Day 5 Philadelphia
Spend the day exploring Philadelphia and visit the ‘Barnes Foundation’, the largest private collection of impressionist and postimpressionist art in the world estimated to be worth over $25 billion. Take a walk through the memorial parks and visit the Liberty Bell centre.
Day 6 Philadelphia
On your final day in Philadelphia it is well worth visiting the many tax free shops which tend to be much cheaper than the identical shops in New York. Why not also take a Philadelphia sightseeing tour where you can see the state’s oldest church and the nation’s first shot factory. You can also admire unique mosaic art and finish on Philly's eclectic South Street and sample one of Phillies renowned Cheese Steaks!
Day 7 Philadelphia – Atlantic City
Make your own way to the 30th Street station to board your 1hr 30min train journey to Atlantic City this morning. Upon arrival in Atlantic City make your way to your hotel, less then 1km away, and after checking in the rest of the day if free to explore Atlantic City.
Day 8 Atlantic City
Your full day in Atlantic City can be spent exploring the Boardwalk area, visiting the various themed hotels and casinos, taking in a show or even participating in a fishing trip or some water sports. In the evening the entertainment is fantastic with a variety of great bars and fine dining restaurants.
Day 9 Atlantic City – London
Today you’ll return to Philadelphia by train before taking a 15 minute cab journey from the 30th Street station to Philadelphia International Airport for your direct overnight flight home.
Day 10
Arrive back in the UK after enjoying what was hopefully a fantastic holiday!
