DAY 01: HALIFAX NS, CANADA
Fly Direct from UK to Halifax. Arrive at Halifax International Airport, pick up your car and drive to your downtown hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure for exploring this bustling oceanside city. Overnight in Halifax.
DAY 02: MONCTON, CANADA
Today you depart Halifax and travel thought the heart of Nova Scotia. Skirting around the eastern shores of Cobequid Bay and the small town of Truro, you head north towards the provincial border leading into New Brunswick. Small towns like Oxford and Amherst dot the route along the highway, offering interesting glimpses into Eastern Canada lifestyles and communities. Arriving in the small city of Moncton in the afternoon, the remainder of the day is yours to explore the surrounding area. Overnight in Moncton.
DAY 03: SAINT JOHN, CANADA
This morning’s short drive to Saint John leaves you ample time to discover the beauty of this small city on the Bay of Fundy. The waters of the bay provide a prime location for outdoor enthusiasts, wildlife viewing or long walks along the historic portlands of the city as the large cruising vessels steam into their berths. The many museums, city parks and a central zoo provide entertainment for all visitors of every taste. Overnight in Saint John.
DAY 04: SAINT JOHN, CANADA
Today you have another day to explore the sights and sounds of Canada’s oldest incorporated city. Perhaps take some time to discover a new delicacy at the Saint. John Farmer’s Market, or spend the afternoon geo-hiking at the Stonehammer Geopark – North America’s only UNESCO-recognized geopark. Overnight in Saint John.
DAY 05: ST ANDREWS BY THE SEA, CANADA
Departing Saint John, you drive east along the coast of the beautiful Bay of Fundy. Known for its dramatic tides and spectacular rock formations formed over eons of erosion, the highway winds through some of the most picturesque east coast scenery in Canada. Arriving in St. Andrews-by-the-sea, you have the remainder of the day to visit the wide beaches, shop the unique downtown markets or enjoy one of the many public gardens and parks of this picturesque community on the water. Overnight in St. Andrews-by-the-Sea.
DAY 06: ST ANDREWS BY THE SEA, CANADA
Today you experience the thrill of racing across the waves of the Fundy coastal waters in a high-speed rigid hull Zodiac boat. Your small group of fellow participants and guide will be on the lookout for massive humpback, finback or minke whales cresting the surface as they feed along the route their annual migration. Colourful puffins dot the cliff sides as bald eagles and razorbills wheel in the crisp skies overhead. The remainder of the day is free to explore this quintessential Canadian town where the echoes of its dramatic past still can be heard today amidst the historic buildings and white clapboard houses of colonial loyalists. Overnight in St Andrews-by-the-Sea.
DAY 07: FREDERICTON, CANADA
Today you head north inland en route to Fredericton. After your short drive you have ample time to explore the many visitor attractions of this maritime city. You may wish to stop in Fredericton and visit the historic Garrison District. Several of the buildings at this site have retained their original heritage architecture, creating a remarkably old world feel in the centre of a modern city. The adjacent York-Sunbury Museum features a live noon hour theatre five days a week during the summer months, and outdoor concerts in the evening. Don’t miss the Changing of the Guard where costumed footmen march to Officers' Square accompanied by the pipes and drum. Overnight in Fredericton.
DAY 08: FREDERICTON, CANADA
New Brunswick’s capital city is rich in culture and riverside beauty. At either Odell or Wilmot parks, you’re sure to find the perfect picnic spot after a refreshing walk or hike. For more outdoor activities, you may enjoy as visit to Mactaquac Provincial Park featuring a broad woodland and recreation complex along the scenic St. John River. Downtown’s Officers Square hosts free outdoor concerts, films and theatre throughout the summer months. Included in your package is admission to Kings Landing Historic Settlement, an outdoor Living History Museum recreating the lives of New Brunswickers in the 1800s. Visitors are provided with a village map and make their way through the site at their own pace. Overnight in Fredericton.
DAY 09: HALIFAX NS, CANADA
Today you head southeast to cross the land bridge connecting New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, with the Bay of Fundy on one side and the Northumberland Strait on the other. If time permits, you may wish to stop off at Fundy National Park, featuring access to the rugged bay coastline that rises up to the Acadian Highlands, the highest tides in the world, and more than 25 waterfalls in a pristine forest setting. Continue on Halifax where the evening is yours at leisure. Overnight in Halifax.
DAY 10: HALIFAX NS - UK
Drop your car off at the airport and check in for your direct overnight flight home.
