DAY 01 - 04: UK - TORONTO, CANADA

Why not book Toronto as part of your Canada multi-centre holiday? Toronto is that rarity among major North American cities, with a community of small-town virtues, few big city vices, and pleasant tree lined streets to balance out the skyscrapers. Toronto has all the advantages of a city of three million people, an art world, theatre, television production, 6000 restaurants, major-league baseball, hockey and football. Toronto is also Canada’s largest city, with over 2.5 million residents and it is also the business and financial capital.

For museum and culture lovers, there is the Royal Ontario Museum, which exhibits a wealth of natural history and world culture. For art lovers there is the Art Gallery of Ontario which houses contemporary artwork from around the world. The Gardiner museum is the only museum in Canada that is solely dedicated to ceramics, of which have been acquired from many locations across the globe. For animal lovers there is the Toronto Zoo, which houses an amazing 5,000 plus animals comprising of over 450 individual species.

Toronto also has some fantastic shopping experiences at hand. The Yorkville Neighbourhood, Financial District, Harbourfront are all popular destinations to suit any shopping fanatics. The Eaton Centre is by far the most popular destination for shopping, with over 50 million visitors on an annual basis. Toronto is certainly a recommended Canada multi-centre stop off, particularly if you want a pleasant urban experience as part of your holiday.

DAY 04 - 07: HALIFAX, CANADA

Halifax comes highly recommended, if you're looking for picturesque and historic elements to your Canada multi-centre holiday. It is the capital of the province of Nova Scotia. The largest urban area in the Atlantic provinces, Halifax looks out over one of the world's largest natural harbours and is an important seaport. Nature lovers will find sandy beaches, beautiful gardens and hiking, birding and beachcombing. Urbanites can enjoy the symphony, live theatre, art galleries and museums, and a lively nightlife. Halifax is an affordable city that provides a mix of Canadian history and modern living, with the constant influence of the sea.

Halifax holds a yearly Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo for two weeks, commencing in July. The sheer beauty of the Victorian inspired Halifax Public Gardens is a must for flora and fauna lovers. Given that Halifax has been ravaged by war in the centuries gone by, there is a plethora of historic sites, museums and lookouts here. Point Pleasant Park is the ideal place for joggers, walkers and it is ideal for the perfect back drop to a family picnic. If you wish to see Halifax in all its glory, a recommended tour would be the Harbour Ferry, which will take you to Dartmouth and give you awe inspiring views of this beautiful location. Call us for advice on local tours and attractions to enjoy, when adding Halifax as part of your multi-centre holiday to Canada.

DAY 07 - 10: MONTREAL, CANADA

Montreal is a highly recommended multi-centre stop off. A city in the Canadian province of Quebec, which is the largest city in the province, the second-largest in the country and the fifteenth-largest in North America.

A determined mixture of French and Canadian, this city's dual personality is reflected in its architecture as well as its population. Drop by Place Ville Marie, Place d'Armes and the beautiful Notre Dame Basilica. Take a walk in the beautiful Jean-Drapeau Parc or a Bateau Mouche down the St Lawrence River.

After all that culture and beautiful buildings, you might be in the mood for a slightly less highbrow pursuit. and what could fit the bill better than shopping?

And as the Canadian Dollar buys you more for your pound than the US dollar, Canada is THE place to shop! Malls include Montréal Eaton Centre, Complexe des Jardins, Le Faubourg Sainte-Catherine and the Place Ville Marie. Wander around Old Montréal for knick-knacks and antiques. Boulevard St Denis is Montréal's Latin Quarter, lined with shops, cafés, bistros and bars.
