Itinerary

Day 01: Depart UK, Arrive Vancouver

Be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. This evening, get to know your fellow travellers and Tour Director during a special Welcome Dinner.

Day 02: Vancouver, Kelowna

After a tour of Vancouver, travel to Kelowna. Lapped by pristine lakes, flanked by mountains and abundant vineyards, you’ll be dazzled by Kelowna - a stunning town situated in the wine-producing heart of British Columbia’s breathtaking Okanagan Valley. On arrival, settle in to your hotel and enjoy time to familiarise yourself with the area before dinner this evening.

Day 03: Kelowna

Enjoy an excursion to a local Okanagan Valley winery and embark on a tour of the winery’s grounds. While you’re here, learn about the techniques used to produce wine in this unique Canadian climate, then indulge in a wine tasting. Afterwards, enjoy lunch then return to Kelowna and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. This provides the perfect opportunity to continue exploring or to perhaps dine at a local restaurant.

Day 04: Banff, Freedom of Choice Dining

Travel into Alberta and up to the lovely mountain township of Banff in the Canadian Rockies. Continue to the magnificent ‘Castle at the Rockies - The Fairmont Banff Springs. After settling in, this evening enjoy dinner at one of the wonderful restaurants in your hotel. Your choice of restaurants includes Bow Valley Grill for a taste of regional produce; superb Italian cuisine at Castello Ristorante; German and Swiss delights at Waldhaus Restaurant; authentic Japanese fare at Samurai Sushi Bar and Restaurant; or Banffshire Club for progressive Canadian cuisine.

Day 05: Banff, Freedom of Choice Sightseeing

Choose from an expanded range of Freedom of Choice Sightseeing inclusions today. You may like to take part in the Banff Experience – which includes a visit to the Cave and Basin National Historic Site. Alternatively, take to the skies for some astonishing views of the park on a wonderful heli-flightseeing trip; take a float trip or go paddling down the beautiful Bow River; relax at the Willow Stream Spa; or enjoy a cruise on nearby Lake Minnewanka. Following your selected activity, the afternoon and evening are then free for you to relax at your incredible hotel or further explore the town. Enjoy dinner at your leisure this evening at one of Banff’s many wonderful eateries.

Day 06: Banff, Lake Louise, Freedom of Choice Dining

This morning you’ll Meet a Mountie, who’ll regale you with tales of the iconic Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Afterwards, board the Banff Gondola and ascend to the top of Sulphur Mountain, where you’ll be awe-struck by the sweeping panoramic views out over six mountain ranges. Returning to the foot of the mountain, you’ll then enjoy a guided tour of Banff township, before setting off by coach over the Trans-Canada Highway. Travel through the lush forest of Banff National Park to Moraine Lake, located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. After pausing to admire the beauty of this stunning glacially-fed lake, continue on to your iconic hotel, The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Here, after settling in, join an expert Mountain Heritage Guide and learn about the rich natural history of the region as you set off on a leisurely stroll beside the shoreline of this iconic emerald-coloured lake. Later this evening, dine at one of the exceptional restaurants located in your hotel.

Day 07: Athabasca Glacier, Jasper. Freedom of Choice Dining

This morning following breakfast, you’ll set out along the Icefields Parkway, a famous and picturesque route that winds through the Canadian Rockies past the ancient glaciers, vast icefields, broad sweeping valleys and pristine lakes that straddle the Continental Divide of the Americas. After pausing to admire spectacular Peyto Lake,

continue on to the giant Columbia Icefield. Here, you’ll board a specially-designed Ice Explorer vehicle and journey right out onto the Athabasca Glacier, formed from snow falling as long as 400 years ago. Afterwards, having entered Jasper National Park, you’ll stop to take in the spectacle of powerful Athabasca Falls before arriving at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. After settling in, this evening enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants located within your lodge.

Day 08: Rocky Mountaineer, Kamloops

This morning after breakfast at your hotel, you’ll step aboard the famous Rocky Mountaineer and relax in the comfort of your GoldLeaf carriage as you descend the Rockies and set out into the mountains along an awe-inspiring route. Sit back and relax in complete luxury as you take in incredible views through the panoramic windows and glass-domed roof. Along the way, indulge in first-class gourmet meals prepared by award-winning chefs.

Day 09: Rocky Mountaineer, Vancouver

Your Rocky Mountaineer rail journey continues this morning. Glide past the steep rocky slopes as your train follows the Thompson River. Pass the thundering waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and admire the towering snow-capped peaks as you travel through the Coast Mountains and on to Vancouver. Upon arrival this evening, check in to your luxurious hotel – the famed Fairmont Waterfront Hotel - located right on Vancouver’s harbour. Enjoy dining at your leisure this evening.

Day 10: Whistler

Farewell Vancouver after breakfast this morning and travel up the Sea to Sky highway to the resort village of Whistler. After settling into your hotel, join your fellow travellers and indulge in a four-course progressive dining experience at four venues, complete with a selection of delightfully paired wines.

Day 11: Georgia Strait, Victoria

This morning you’ll depart Whistler after breakfast, travelling down the Sea to Sky Highway via pretty Shannon Falls on the way to Horseshoe Bay. From here, board a ferry for the journey across Georgia Strait to the small city of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Disembark, and travel by coach via Chemainus, home to a number of unique outdoor murals, to Victoria.

Forgo the journey by land and ferry, and take a one-hour flight from Whistler to Victoria (own expense). Enjoy incredible views of the Georgia Strait and arrive in Victoria in the early afternoon, where you’ll enjoy time at leisure to explore.

Day 12: Victoria, The Butchart Gardens, Freedom of Choice Sightseeing

This morning visit The Butchart Gardens before the crowds have arrived, and enjoy breakfast in the original Butchart residence. Enjoy the chance to explore the 22 hectares of colourful gardens and learn why these are considered to be one of the world’s premier floral show gardens. Afterwards choose from one of our Freedom of Choice Sightseeing inclusions. Perhaps set off on an incredible whale watching cruise; take a seaplane flight for stunning views of Victoria; tour the city’s historic houses and gardens; fish for salmon with an expert guide; ride through the city in a horse-drawn carriage; or delight in afternoon tea at The Fairmont Empress Hotel. Tonight, as the land portion of your trip draws to an end, enjoy a Farewell Dinner and Drinks. 

Day 13: Princess Cruises Inside Passage Cruise

After breakfast, you’ll return by ferry to the mainland, where UT14JWVF guests depart the tour with a transfer to the airport for their return flight to the UK, arriving in the UK the following morning. Remaining guests board the Pacific Princess and settle in for a seven-night cruise of the Inside Passage and Glacier Bay.

Day 14: Cruise the Inside Passage

Enjoy a full day at sea as your ship cruises along coastal British Columbia and the Alaska Panhandle. Glide past rocky headlands and over the frigid waters of the Inside Passage, one of the most picturesque sea-lanes in the world, and one of the few where deep-draft vessels can sail close to steep mountain walls. 

Day 15: Juneau

Continue on to Alaska’s capital, Juneau, set at the foot of the majestic Coast Mountains, on the shores of the Gastineau Channel. Here, disembark and explore at leisure or set off on one of the available excursions (own expense). 

Day 16: Skagway

Today you’ll arrive in Skagway at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Once a gateway city for the Klondike gold rush, Skagway’s frontier-style atmosphere remains evident today. Disembark your ship after breakfast and enjoy a variety of unique excursions (own expense). 

Day 17: Glacier Bay

Wake up to the breathtaking sight of World Heritage-listed Glacier Bay National Park, which boasts more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anywhere else in the world. As you cruise through the national park and take in the rivers of ice and sky-scraping peaks, you’ll benefit from the insightful commentary of local rangers who will come aboard your ship to explain the geological wonders and point out some of the diverse wildlife and marine mammals.

Day 18: Ketchikan

Ketchikan is a cheerful town that’s set right on the shores of the Tongass Narrows, with many colourful shops and houses built right out over the water. Besides the main attractions of the town itself, Ketchikan also acts as a gateway to Misty Fjords National Monument - one of America’s largest wilderness areas. 

Day 19: The Inside Passage

Heading south through the Inside Passage, watch the glorious landscape slip by on your final day at sea.

Day 20: Depart Vancouver

On arrival back in Vancouver this morning, disembark your ship after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your return flight.
