Highlights / General details

Flavors of San Juan Food & Culture Tours is Puerto Rico’s original food and cultural tour of Old San Juan. Book with us early in your trip and become a foodie insider on this hidden culinary gem adventure to experience the sights and flavors of this 495 year old landmark city. See the second oldest church in the Americas, learn the rich history and legends behind historic landmarks in the city, savor hand crafted, artisanal creations and even make your own signature Puerto Rican dish: Mofongo with chicken (vegetarian subs available)! We get you involved in the local food scene so you leave with the confidence and knowledge that will serve you during the remainder of your stay in sunny Puerto Rico.

Our bilingual guides share their knowledge and recommendations of exciting local attractions, architectural landmarks, and do not miss restaurants and foodie scenes in and around San Juan. Take our Old San Juan Food Tour™ and enjoy the oversight we can provide.

TASTING LOCATIONS:

We start off by foot in front of the Old San Juan City bay and eat our way through the Colonial city, tantalizing your tastebuds with up to 10 sips and bits ranging from local sweet bread Mallorca to savory chicken capped Mofongo, paired with a rum cocktail. We don't want to spoil the whole adventure but for most our tour tastings make a meal. See below to learn more about our wonderful foodie partners. (tastings subject to change without notice)

Caficultura - Begin your morning tour the way most Puerto Ricans do: with single origin coffee and local sweetbread, Mallorca.

Cuatro Sombras Torrefacción y Café - Taste and learn about Puerto Rico's premium single-origin coffee; always smooth, never bitter.

Señor Paleta - The city's first artisan ice pop shop. Made fresh daily from locally sourced fresh fruits or premium nuts and chocolates.

Café El Punto - Local eatery highlighting fresh ingredients from San Juan's most popular farmer's market.

Rosa de Triana - Get hands on experience making Puerto Rico's signature dish (mofongo) in a restaurant formely used as Old San Juan's original city hall (dates to 1523!).

Carlis Fine Bistro & Piano - Enjoy a live cocktail demo and a typical holiday dish in this former Beach Boy's Jazz haunt.

Vaca Brava - Cap your foodie experience off with one of the best flans in town

Casa Cortés ChocoBar Old San Juan's only choco bar, you'll savor hand crafted local chocolate in a beautiful, unique ambiance.

Princesa Gastrobar - Feast on recipes dating back to the 1800s while dining under the historic city walls.
