Experience the dramatic sea cliffs, roaring surf, white sand beaches and ancient rainforest as you travel along the Great Ocean Road, one of the most spectacular coastal journeys in the world.

Journey to the popular coastal townships of Torquay and Lorne - a surfer’s haven and retreat, pass world famous Bells Beach, home to World Surfing Championships and see many gullies and river inlets. Stop for lunch at Apollo Bay (own expense). Travel the length of the Great Ocean Road passing towering limestone cliffs, sweeping white beaches and stunning forest scenery. Witness a fabulous spectacle of massive natural erosion.

View the amazing Twelve Apostles - limestone stacks rising dramatically from the Southern Ocean and visit the Information Centre. Walk among the boardwalk enjoying the scenery from various viewing platforms. See Loch Ard Gorge and be swept away by the romantic and tragic story of love and lives lost aboard the Loch Ard. Explore Port Campbell National Park and discover the tragic history of over 50 ships wrecked along the rugged coastline. Continue beyond Port Campbell to the remnants of London Bridge, Razorback and Island Arch before returning to Melbourne.

Day by day

Day 1 London to Melbourne

Fly overnight from London to Melbourne.

Day 2 Melbourne

Arrive into Melbourne international airport. Once you have got your bags make your own way to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day relaxing after your flight.

Day 3-4 Melbourne

Enjoy 2 full days at leisure. Why not pre-book a Melbourne city tour, Melbourne is a city that is widely renowned for its gardens, history, culture, character and European-style charm, and a city tour is the best way to see all of the essentials of the capital with maximum efficiency to ensure no time is wasted. With such highlights included on the tour itinerary as St. Paul's Cathedral, Federation Square, Chinatown, Parliament House and much more, you're sure to get a true taste of the diversity that Melbourne is all about. Melbourne's Yarra River provides the perfect destination for a river cruise that will let you enjoy the views of some of the city's famous landmarks from its lovely waters. See the iconic Botanic Gardens, River Gardens and Dockland or experience a cruise at night to experience the river by moonlight while enjoying a delicious dinner in comfort and privacy.

Day 5 Melbourne

Day 6 Melbourne to Hamilton Island

This morning make your own way back to the airport ready for your internal flight to Hamilton Island. When you arrive make your own way to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 7-9 Hamilton Island

You have 3 full days here to enjoy this truly stunning island. Hamilton Island offers an experience like no other: beaches, coral reefs, fascinating flora and fauna, fine food and wines, and activities almost too numerous to mention. You will find plenty of things to do here of if you just want to lay on a beach and take in the view then look no further than Hamilton Island.

Day 10 Hamilton Island to Sydney

This morning make your way back to the airport ready for your flight to Sydney. When you arrive into Sydney jump into a taxi and make your way to your hotel in Darling Harbour. The evening is at your leisure.

Day 11-14 Sydney

You have 3 full days to enjoy your time in Sydney at your own pace. Suggested highlights include scaling the Sydney Harbour Bridge, touring the Sydney Opera House, learning to Surf at Bondi Beach or seeing the city from the skies with Sydney Seaplanes.

Day 15 Sydney to Blue Mountains

An Australian Eco Adventures vehicle will pick you up from your hotel to commence a two day Blue Mountains Overnight Experience tour.
Head out of the city and stop at Featherdale Wildlife Park before any other tourists, for close encounters with native Australian animals such as kangaroos, koalas, emus and wombats. Leave the Park and head up through the northern section of the Blue Mountains National Park stopping for morning tea at Bilpin, then take a couple of short walks to enjoy the stunning views of these remote regions and learn about the flora. Passing through the historic town of Hartley Vale, search for kangaroos grazing in the pastoral areas. Your lunch destination is a local venue in the heart of the Blue Mountains, to relax and enjoy the food. Stop at Wentworth Falls for views and walk to the falls, and a visit to Eaglehawk Lookout for views of the Three Sisters. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the Three Sisters and a walk through the rainforest, before arriving at your accommodation to enjoy the afternoon and evening relaxing at leisure.

Day 16 Blue Mountains to Sydney to London

There is time in the morning to explore more great views, unique rock formations, deep canyons and ancient rainforests before being collected at approximately 2.00pm. Head down the southern section and stop to enjoy a glass of chilled champagne or orange juice, before departing the national park and returning to Sydney. Visit to the historic village of Mt Wilson, stop at a remote lookout for a glass of sparkling wine or orange juice and more time at Mt Tomah Gardens. Tour concludes at approximately 5.00pm. After your tour make your way to the airport ready for your flight home.

Day 17 London

Arrive back into the UK after a fantastic holiday.
