Day by Day

Day 1 London – Louisville

Fly from the UK to Louisville, Kentucky. Upon arrival pick up your car from the airport and drive the sort distance to your hotel. The remainder of your day is free to explore Kentucky’s main city.

Day 2 Louisville

Churchill Downs- Backstretch Breakfast Tour- Start your day by experiencing the exclusive atmosphere of a morning at the track with a preview of the magical process of training world-class Thoroughbreds during the early morning workout. Kentucky Derby Museum- Experience Derby Day from the starting gate to the finish line. The Kentucky Derby Museum brings the pageantry and excitement of the Kentucky Derby to life. Feel the excitement of the crowds and hear the thunder of the hoofs with a presentation of “The Greatest Race”. Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory- Tour the World- famous bat factory. Admire the world’s largest baseball bat before going inside to see how Louisville Sluggers are made. Have an all-star experience by swinging a bat just like Babe Ruth’s, facing down a 90 mph fastball and sharing a dugout with Mickey Mantle. The “Louisville Slugger” has been essential in the sport of baseball since 1884..

Day 3 Louisville

Frazier History Museum- Take an unforgettable journey through history that spans 1,000 years and 2 continents with one of the greatest collection of arms, armor and related historical artifacts in the world. The Frazier features a collection of arms and armor of famous politicians, celebrities, frontiersmen, soldiers, knights and kings. Groups enjoy guided tours, sword fighting demonstrations and first-person costumed historical interpretations.  Evan Williams Bourbon Experience- Celebrate the legacy of Evan Williams, Kentucky’s first distiller and namesake of Heaven Hill’s flagship Bourbon brand, this immersive tourism experience located on Louisville’s historic “Whiskey Row,” is a multi-million dollar facility featuring an artisanal distillery, tours and bourbon tastings.

 

Day 4 Louisville to Lexington

Drive the 1hour 20 mins journey to Lexington, the remainder of your day is free to explore the sights of Lexington

Day 5 Lexington

Enjoy your only full day in Lexington by shopping in Bluegrass, meeting Lexington’s four-footed celebrities in their own home on a Horse Farm Tour or you can Visit four period historic homes of the Area’s most famous citizens.

Day 6 Lexington – bowling green (Mammoth Cave)

Take your Car and drive the 2hour 20 minute drive to bowling green. A great stop would be Bardstown. Located in the heart of Kentucky Bourbon Country and situated at the trailhead of the famed Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Bardstown is more familiarly known as the “Bourbon Capital of the World.” It is home to five distilleries, including Barton 1792 and Willett Distillery and these three Kentucky Bourbon Trail distilleries: Heaven Hill, Maker’s Mark and Jim Beam. Major attractions include the outdoor musical, “The Stephen Foster Story,” My Old Kentucky Home State Park, the highly regarded Civil War Museum of the Western Theatre, My Old Kentucky Dinner Train, the narrated Heaven Hill Trolley tour and The Kentucky Railway Museum – where Thomas the Tank Engine is known to put in appearances. Additionally, Bardstown has four 18-hole golf courses, three wineries, two haunted tours and numerous religious attractions. It was selected as the “Most Beautiful Small Town in America” in the Rand McNally/USA Today 2012 “Best of the Road” contest and landed in the top 20 of “America’s Favorite Towns” in a survey by Travel + Leisure – which also recognized Bardstown as having  one of “America’s Most Beautiful Town Squares.” In 2013, Bardstown was designated a certified Kentucky Cultural District, one of only six Kentucky cities to achieve this honor.

 

Day 7 bowling green (Mammoth Cave)

Enjoy your only full day here by taking a short drive to Mammoth Cave National Park. Mammoth Cave National Park preserves the cave system and a part of the Green River valley and hilly country of south central Kentucky. This is the world's longest known cave system, with more than 400 miles explored, a true natural Beauty.

Day 8 bowling green (Mammoth Cave) – Nashville

Time for the next driving part of the trip, the journey from bowling green to Nashville only takes an hour so this will give you plenty of time to enjoy the drive and relax once you get to Nashville.

Day 9 Nashville

Start your day downtown at the acclaimed Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. It's chock-full of colourful exhibits and music. Drive a few blocks west on Broadway to Frist centre for the Visual Arts which is an outstanding museum, housed in a historic post-office building. First-rate exhibitions from throughout the world are shown here. The permanent ArtQuest Gallery is a wondrous, hands-on creativity center where children and adults alike can experiment with their own artwork.  Don’t forget about your complimentary Lunch time cruise along the river!! After a bit of a rest and a bite to eat, browse the bars and colourful nightlife along Broadway and the surrounding area. You can hear live music mostly anywhere, from Tootsie's Orchid Lounge to B.B. King's Blues Club.


 

Day 10 Nashville - Memphis

There is time in the morning for some last minute shopping or sightseeing before driving the 3 hour journey to Memphis, the home of the King.

Day 11 Memphis

Enjoy your full day here and enjoy your Complimentary Graceland trip. The blue-and-white living room where he and Priscilla entertained guests. The mirrored, yellow TV room where Elvis liked to unwind. His paisley pool room. You'll see it all and more on your tour of the mansion where Elvis lived -- and where he died

 

Day 12 Memphis – Atlanta

Drive to Memphis airport and drop your car off before boarding your short flight to the City of Atlanta. Once you have landed in Atlanta make your own way to your hotel and enjoy the evening at Leisure.

Day 13 Atlanta

Start your morning in the Auburn district early, as the entire neighborhood is packed full of historic treasures, starting with the Martin Luther King, Jr., National Historic Site. Designated a national historic site, these blocks include the Birth Home of Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where King's father and grandfather were ministers and King served as a copastor. In the area, you'll also find the King Center, where King is buried, and the APEX Museum.

 

Day 14 Atlanta

Another full day in Atlanta to enjoy the endless attractions, why not Visit the famous Atlanta Zoo. Among the highlights in this world-class zoo are the giant pandas. The happy couple welcomed their second baby in 2008, named Xi Lan, after the traditional 100-day waiting period for naming baby pandas. Cute as she is, though, Xi Lan isn't the only draw; Zuri, the baby giraffe, arrived last summer to a hail of cheers. The 40-acre Zoo Atlanta features some 200 species of animals from around the world

Day 15 Atlanta - London

There is time in the morning for some last minute shopping or sightseeing before making your own way to the airport to board your overnight direct flight from Atlanta to London.

Day 16 London

Arrive back in the UK after enjoying what was hopefully a fantastic holiday!
