It’s humble, working class beginnings helped shape this neighborhood into the historic, authentic, delicious, friendly neighborhood it is today. We want to help you explore and dig deep into this 17th- century neighborhood, just off the beaten path and away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. We’ll introduce you to our locals in the very same shops and cafes they’ve been running for generations. (You’ll even experience their uniquely Jordanian sense of humor!) You’ll visit hidden courtyards, wander tiny back streets, and watch the boats drift by on the canals. Our local guides love to tell you their own Amsterdam stories, enhancing your experience while you eat, drink and walk along our canals with friends. Take a break from being a tourist and experience the real Amsterdam with us.

Our 4-hour Jordaan Food Tour is so much more than meets the eye: it’s a guided walk through the unique cultural and historical sights of the Jordaan neighborhood; and it’s a substantial meal in the form of a dozen delicious Dutch tastings from plenty of authentic foodie stops along the way – all in one!

Location

The meeting point in located right outside Café Papeneiland located at Prinsengracht #2 in the Jordaan neighborhood. The café is situated on the corner of Prnsengracht and Brouwersgracht and is right in front of the canal, facing a bridge. The café has a few wooden seats outside in front of the entrance on the sidewalk.

Additional Information

While the terrain is flat, we recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes and if rain is forecast, bring waterproofs and/or an umbrella as we will be outside for a lot of the tour. You may also want to bring a bottle of water with you if the weather is warm.

This tour can accommodate vegetarian diets, gluten free diets, dairy free diets, as well as alcohol and pork aversions; all relevant dietary restrictions must be made known ahead of time.

Tour requires a 2 passenger minimum to operate, 6 passengers maximum.
