sandlwana Lodge, a destination unto itself, enjoys stunning panoramic views of the Isandlwana Mountain and plain where the Zulu impi defeated a column of British soldiers during the first major battle of the Anglo-Zulu War on the 22nd of January, 1879. The shield-shaped building is in keeping with the historic site and the traditions and culture of the Zulu people. The Lodge has 12 luxury en-suite bedrooms, each with a private balcony overlooking magnificent scenery.
Isandlwana Guest House sleeps 6 people in three twin bedrooms or can be divided into two units, one with two bedrooms and the other with one bedroom. There is a full bath on each side and both units are equipped for self-catering. Reservations for meals can be made at the Lodge, space permitting.
Tours of the Zulu Battlefield sites of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift and other Anglo-Zulu/Anglo-Boer war sites are conducted by resident historian Rob Gerrard, FRGS, or one of his associates, while Dalton Ngobese is the Zulu guide who conducts the battlefield and cultural tours for Isandlwana Lodge.
