Day 1. Arrive Buenos Aires (Argentina)

On arrival in Argentina’s vibrant capital today, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel before a Welcome Reception tonight.
Stay Three Nights: Buenos Aires, Emperador Hotel Buenos Aires

Day 2. Buenos Aires

Today’s tour of Buenos Aires begins at the Avenida de Mayo. See the pink Casa Rosada (Government House), the city’s cathedral and the Cabildo, Buenos Aires’ first city hall. Like a Local - visit Café Tortoni, a famous literati coffeehouse that dates back to 1858. Indulge in a freshly brewed coffee and delicious Spanish delicacies. Afterwards, visit San Telmo, the city’s oldest barrio (district). Here, you might like to explore the colonial buildings or soak up the bohemian spirit at a lively local restaurant. Later, explore the Italian-influenced barrio of La Boca and its famously colourful pedestrian street, the Caminito. Then travel along Avenida 9 de Julio, the widest avenue in the world.

Day 3. Buenos Aires

Armed with the insight provided by your Travelmarvel Tour Director, today is yours to explore fascinating Buenos Aires independently. Alternatively, you may like to Enhance your Journey and join us on one of several optional excursions. Perhaps head to the island town of Tigre and cruise the Paraná Delta; visit an estancia (ranch), for a full-day Fiesta Gaucha featuring horseback riding, folk music and lunch; or take a leisurely tour of the Teatro Colón (Opera House). A Taste of Buenos Aires - enjoy dinner and a wonderful tango show this evening at La Ventana.

Day 4. Buenos Aires, Iguassu Falls (Argentina and Brazil)

Fly from Buenos Aires to Iguassu Falls, a system of 275 falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil. On the Argentinian side, take the Rainforest Ecological Train through forest to a series of walkways and viewing points, including one that leads to the 82 metre-high Devil’s Throat falls. This is the largest and most spectacular of the region's waterfalls. Later, cross into Brazil.

Day 5. Iguassu Falls

Today, experience the majesty of Brazil’s World Heritage-listed Iguassu National Park at your leisure. You might like to walk through subtropical rainforest and take in a breathtaking panoramic view of all 275 falls. Or, perhaps join us for an optional Boat Ride Safari - an exciting speed boat adventure at Iguassu Falls.

Day 6. Iguassu Falls, Rio de Janeiro

Fly to Rio de Janeiro today and soak up the city’s unique vibe during time at leisure, before embarking on a sunset cable car ride to the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain. A Taste of Rio de Janeiro - head to Porcão Rio’s steakhouse to sample Brazil’s national cocktail, the caipirinha, before enjoying a delicious Brazilian BBQ.

Day 7. Rio de Janeiro

With today at leisure, you can explore the exciting city of Rio de Janeiro as you please. Or, perhaps Enhance your Journey with one of the two optional experiences that are available. You might like to join us for a leisurely drive through the local favelas (shanty towns), or take an enthralling guided tour of some of Rio's most significant historical sights. Leisure time tonight offers you the chance to dine at one of Rio’s many superb restaurants.

Day 8. Rio de Janeiro

This morning after breakfast, head to Corcovado Mountain. Here, you’ll visit the astonishing statue of Christ the Redeemer, which sits at the peak of the mountain, and absorb the breathtaking views from the mountain top. Tonight, you may like to visit the Rio Scenarium for dinner and a samba show.

Day 9. Rio de Janeiro, Santiago (Chile)

Farewell Brazil this morning and fly to Santiago, the vibrant Chilean capital. Situated in the Santiago basin, this coastal metropolis is spectacularly flanked by the Andes and enjoys some of the most magnificent settings of any city in the world. On arrival, check in to your hotel before the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Day 10. Santiago

This morning, embark on a guided city sightseeing tour taking you to Santiago’s lively and historic central square, the Plaza de Armas. Like a Local - later today, travel to the picturesque port city of Valparaíso. Here, enjoy a sumptuous lunch and a tour of the World Heritage-listed town centre. A drive up the steep hills affords stunning views of the bay and the colourful city below. After, return to Santiago to enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 11. Santiago, Lima (Peru)

Today heralds the start of your Peruvian discovery, as you fly from Santiago to Lima. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Brujas del Cachiche - a local restaurant set in an old mansion overlooking a beautiful park - followed by a locally-guided tour through the World Heritage-listed Historic Centre of Lima.

Day 12. Lima, Cusco, Chincheros, Sacred Valley

Fly to the World Heritage-listed city of Cusco, the former capital of the Incan Empire. Travel through Cusco to Chincheros, a city located in the stunning Andean highlands. Like a Local - during a traditional weaving demonstration, see how the colourful materials of South America are created by local people and learn of their importance in preserving ancient traditions. Day 13. Sacred Valley

Like a Local - explore the Sacred Valley, starting with a visit to the markets of Pisac, a hilltop handicraft village located near various Incan ruins. A Taste of the Sacred Valley - visit the home of a local family to sample a typical Andean home-cooked meal. This is a unique opportunity to interact on a cultural level with the people of Peru. Your sightseeing in the Sacred Valley then continues with a visit to the Ollantaytambo archaeological site, a former ancient Incan royal estate located near the town of Cusco. Afterwards, enjoy the rest of today at leisure.

Day 14. Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu

Like a Local - today board the Vistadome train and soak up the Andean landscapes as you head to World Heritage-listed Machu Picchu, some 2,400 metres above sea level. On arrival, you’ll set out on a locally guided tour of the Lost City of the Incas, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and the most familiar icon of the Inca Empire.

Day 15. Machu Picchu, Cusco

After a morning at leisure, you’ll re-board the Vistadome train for your return journey through the Peruvian Andes back to Cusco. The evening is then yours to spend at leisure.

Day 16. Cusco

A guided walking tour through Cusco this morning will take you to the square in the city’s historic heart, the Plaza de Armas. During your tour you’ll visit the sacred site of Koricancha and the beautiful Baroque church of Santo Domingo. Both fascinating sites provide insight into the unique fusion of ancient Andean and Western European culture. Following free time to explore, you’ll enjoy a delicious Peruvian dinner and a traditional folklore show at the Tunupa Restaurant Bar and Grill this evening.

Day 17. Cusco, Lake Titicaca

Take a coach to the city of Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Along the way, you’ll stop at the small town of Andahuaylillas, known for its picturesque Sistine chapel. You’ll also stop for a hearty buffet lunch. On arrival in Puno, enjoy time at leisure to relax by Lake Titicaca.

Day 18. Lake Titicaca

Set on the border of Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca is the highest altitude lake in the world. Like a Local - this morning you’ll set out a cruise over the lake to the remarkable home of the Uros people - a group of more than 40 man-made islands created from floating reeds. On this unforgettable trip, you’ll enjoy an insight into the Uros’ unique way of life and experience the spectacular scenery that characterises the region. In the evening, you’ll return to your hotel for a delicious dinner.

Day 19. Lake Titicaca, Lima

After flying back to Lima this morning, the entire day is yours to map out as you wish. A Taste of Lima - this evening, indulge in a special Farewell Dinner at Restaurant Huaca Pucllana - set within the ruins of an incredible archaeological compound. As you dine, take in your stunning surrounds and enjoy amazing views of a colourfully illuminated adobe pyramid.
