Day 1. Depart UK
Make your way to London Heathrow for your flight to the Cambodian city of Siem Reap.
Day 2. Arrive Siem Reap
On arrival in Siem Reap this afternoon, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Special Stay – this evening unwind at the Shinta Mani Resort.

Day 3. Siem Reap, Angkor
Following breakfast, enjoy the morning at leisure. Later, head out on a tour to the most enduring capital of the Khmer empire, Angkor Thom, a walled city complex located within World Heritage-listed Angkor Archaeological Park. Visit the 13th-century temple, Bayon, as well as the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. At a Welcome Dinner tonight, dine on delicious Khmer cuisine and enjoy a traditional Apsara dance performance. BD
Day 4. Siem Reap, Angkor
Enjoy a spectacular start to your day as you rise early to experience the sunrise at Angkor Wat, the best-preserved temple of the park and thought to be the world’s largest single religious monument. Later, return to the hotel for breakfast before enjoying time to explore as you please. This afternoon takes you to nearby Ta Prohm, a temple famous for its intertwined trees. Like a Local – before returning to Siem Reap, visit a ‘grass roots’ orphanage. B
Day 5. Siem Reap, Embark Cruise
After breakfast this morning board your river ship, the RV La Marguerite, for the start of your seven-night Mekong River cruise. This evening, after settling in to your suite, enjoy a Welcome Dinner in the ship’s Mekong Restaurant.

Day 6. Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Tralach, Oudong
A boat trip today takes you into the wetlands that form the river-mouth of Tonle Sap. After re-boarding your ship, continue cruising along the Mekong to Kampong Tralach, where you’ll enjoy an ox-cart ride. Then travel by coach to Oudong, the royal capital of Cambodia from 1618 until 1866. Here, visit the monastery for a Buddhist blessing experience before returning to your ship. BLD
Day 7. Chong Koh, Phnom Penh
Disembark and explore the little-known silk-weaving village of Chong Koh today, before continuing on to Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital. This evening, following dinner on board, take in a Khmer folk performance. BLD
Day 8. Phnom Penh
On a tour of Phnom Penh today, visit the opulent Royal Palace and the impressive Silver Pagoda. Then, after lunch back on your ship, join an excursion to the infamous Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum on the site of the Khmer Rouge’s notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21). After dinner, perhaps step out for an evening walk around this fascinating capital. BLD
Day 9. Border Crossing, Tan Chau
Enjoy the entire day on board today as your ship heads towards the Cambodian border. Perhaps take in a fruit-carving demonstration by one of the ship’s chefs while the border formalities are carried out and you cross into Vietnam. Later, arrive in the Vietnamese town of Tan Chau, where your ship will remain moored overnight. BLD
Day 10. Tan Chau, Sa Dec
Today you’ll travel along the tiny tributaries that snake around Tan Chau, and visit a remote island to witness authentic rural Mekong life that is as yet untouched by tourism. Later, venture ashore for a wonderful rickshaw tour of Tan Chau and visit several local artisan workshops, among other attractions. Back on board your ship this afternoon, you might choose to attend an insightful lecture on Vietnam in your ship’s lounge. BLD
Day 11. Sa Dec, Xeo Quyt, Cai Be
This morning, take a boat ride to Sa Dec for a guided sightseeing tour that will take in the city’s main attractions as well as a range of traditional architecture. Afterwards, travel to Xeo Quyt, a stronghold during the anti-French and American wars. After lunch, a local boat takes you to the river-land town of Cai Be. Here, go ashore to see the French Gothic Cathedral and visit a local rice paper manufacturer to learn how rice paper is made. This evening, return to your ship and enjoy your last night onboard. BLD
Day 12. Disembark Ship, Saigon
Disembark the RV La Marguerite for the final time at My Tho Port today and travel by coach to the thriving Vietnamese city of Saigon. Here, enjoy an orientation tour. Special Stay – for the next two nights, stay right in the bustling heart of the city at the famous Grand Hotel Saigon.

Day 13. Cu Chi Tunnels, Saigon
This morning you’ll set off on a visit to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, which were built by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the Vietnam War. Part of a larger network, these tunnels were used by Viet Cong guerrillas as hiding spots, supply and communication routes, hospitals and weapon caches. Today, they offer intriguing insight into the war. After your visit, return to Saigon. With this afternoon yours to enjoy at leisure, you may like to ask your Tour Director about the optional experiences that are available. This evening, head to a local restaurant for a delicious Farewell Dinner. BLD

After breakfast this morning, your time in Asia ends as you’re transferred to the airport for your return flight to the UK. B
