Standard: Amazon Ecopark
We would like to inform you about the drought in the Amazon, that occurs every year in this region, but this year reached the same level of the worst drought reported in the last 50 years. In some regions of the Amazon, the rivers dried up completely, hindering access to the lodges, making it necessary to walk down the river bed for at least 1 hour to arrive at reception.
We have some recommendations for guests that will be visiting the region until early November: *Bring small luggage that weighs less than 10km, and leave the largest bag in the lodge's office (when they are available) or in the airport lockers. *Use hats will long bills and dark sunglasses for protection from the intense heat; *Use sunscreen and always carry bottled water; *Wear comfortable shoes or boots and light coloured clothes made from lightweight fabric;
Day 8 – 9 The Amazon Rainforest
Over the next two days, explore the fascinating Amazon rainforest, one of the 'New 7 Wonders of Nature' finalists. Enjoy a jungle hike with your guide explaining the amazing flora and fauna that surrounds you. Travel into the Amazon for a full day excursion visiting the phenomenon of the 'Meeting of the Waters' at the confluence of the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimes, a remarkable sight not to be missed.
