A trip to the spectacular Great Barrier Reef will be the highlight of your visit to Australia.  After an early morning pick-up, transfer to Port Douglas and board your high-speed wave-piercing catamaran for the exciting crossing to the vibrant Agincourt Reef, a magnificent ribbon reef at the far edge of Australia’s natural wonder.  Here, you will have the opportunity to see the Great Barrier Reef at its very best, a magical kaleidoscope of life and colour. The reef is home to spectacular corals, a multitude of brightly colourful tropical fish, giant turtles, manatees, manta rays, whales, dolphins and sharks - no place on earth has a greater variety of life.  Snorkelling is the best way to see the reef in all its glory and the experienced instructors are on hand to ensure optimal viewing.

Other activities available include diving (additional charges payable locally) and for those wishing to stay dry, observe the wonders of the Barrier Reef from the comfort of a semi-submersible.  You can view the fish feeding from Quicksilver's unique underwater viewing platform and underwater observatory and a tropical smorgasbord lunch is also included. Day by day

Day 1 London to Brisbane

Fly overnight from London to Brisbane

Day 2 Brisbane

Arrive into Brisbane and make your own way to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing after your long flight.

Day 3 - 6 Brisbane

Make the most of your 3 full days in Brisbane - a sunny, sophisticated capital on the winding Brisbane River. Along with lush parks and laid-back locals, this is a city with serious cultural credentials and first-class wining, dining and dancing. Shop up a sub-tropical storm on Queen Street, then check out the city’s historic buildings. Dine out along South Bank’s sandy lagoon and explore its storehouse of cultural attractions. Pick out Brisbane’s landmarks on a leisurely river cruise or from Mt Coot-tha Lookout. Listen to live music in Fortitude Valley or lose yourself to nature in the sandy adventure playground of Moreton Island.

Day 7 Brisbane to Cairns onboard the Sunlander

This morning your train will depart at 9:00am, this will be an overnight service in a sleeper cabin in first class

Day 8 Cairns

Arrive into Cairns this afternoon after a night onboard the Sunlander. Make your own way to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 9 -12 Cairns

Australia's most popular tropical getaway destination, Cairns owes a huge part of its popularity to its proximity to the wondrous Great Barrier Reef. While it doesn't hurt having a Natural Wonder of the World on your doorstep, it is far from the only attraction that Cairns has to offer - a renowned adventure destination, Cairns and its surroundings are full of activities to take part in that range from the relaxing to the adrenaline-pumping. From reef tours to bungee jumping, Cairns is bursting at the seams with things to do to keep you busy on your 3 full days.

Day 13 Cairns to Sydney

This morning make your way back to the airport ready for your internal flight to Sydney. When you have arrived make your way to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 14-17 Sydney

You have 3 full days to enjoy your time in Sydney at your own pace. Suggested highlights include scaling the Sydney Harbour Bridge, touring the Sydney Opera House, learning to Surf at Bondi Beach or seeing the city from the skies with Sydney Seaplanes.

Day 18 Sydney to London

Enjoy some last minute shopping before making your way back to the airport ready for your flight home.

Day 19 London

Arrive back into London after a fantastic Australian adventure!

Brisbane

Brisbane whale watching - £94 per person - Spend a memorable day watching mighty humpback whales as they play in the calm azure waters of Moreton Bay.

Head to Redcliffe Jetty to join your whale discovery cruise for an exciting whale watching adventure.  Between June and October, Moreton Bay is a haven for majestic humpback whales as they migrate to and from feeding grounds in the icy waters of the Antarctic.  Photo opportunities abound as these playful creatures spy hop, slap their tails and show off with full breaches.  Your experience will be enhanced by your friendly and knowledgeable captain who will explain the habits and characteristics of these majestic mammals. 

Cruises take place on the ultra modern MV Eye-Spy, a luxury catamaran that has been purpose built for whale viewing. The catamaran includes 360 degree walk around lower and upper decks, a sun deck and a fully licensed bar. Your cruise includes a sumptuous buffet lunch plus morning or afternoon tea. 

Croc Express – Australia Zoo and Crocodile show - £75 per person, Spend a day with Australia's craziest critters at Australia Zoo, made famous by the Crocodile Hunter himself, Steve Irwin.

Visit the home of the famous 'Crocodile Hunter', the late Steve Irwin. The Zoo remains a living legacy to Steve and his conservation efforts.  Australia Zoo has a collection of some of Australia's most dangerous reptiles. There is time to explore the many exhibits and shows, and see the feeding of the wild crocodiles. Get up close and personal with some of Australia's unique wildlife such as kangaroos, emus and snakes. Lunch at own expense.

Cairns

Luxury Ocean Spirit cruise to Michaelmas Cay - £119 per person, Board your luxury 5 star sailing catamaran for an exhilarating journey across the Great Barrier Reef to stunning Michealmas Cay, a tropical sand island surrounded by magical coral gardens, teeming with an abundance of marine life.

Relax and enjoy the friendly service aboard your luxury catamaran as you sail in style to Michaelmas Cay in the heart of the magnificent Outer Barrier Reef. A protected sanctuary for a multitude of migrating seabirds, this idyllic reef island is completely enclosed by a breathtaking garden of vibrant corals, giant clams and exotic marine life. Here, you can snorkel in crystal clear waters and view the Great Barrier Reef in all its glory. Other activities available include diving (additional charges payable locally) and for those wishing to stay dry, you can observe the wonders of the Barrier Reef from the comfort of a semi-submersible. Guided bird tours and ecological presentations by the onboard biologists are also available and a buffet lunch is provided on board your catamaran. Green Island Reef cruise - £69 per person - Take a leisurely day trip out to Green Island, a picture postcard tropical island in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef island with a rainforest interior and surrounded by white sand beaches and stunning coral gardens.

This cruise to Green Island is an amazing way to spend a day on the world famous Great Barrier Reef. Your modern catamaran will speed you to this picture-postcard site and you will have a full day to explore, snorkel or simply sunbathe before your return to Cairns in the early evening.

A protected Marine National Park, Green Island is home to an abundance of marine life and this coupled with the beautiful coral reef which fringes the island makes this an ideal place to visit for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. The dense rainforest which makes up the interior of the island is perfect for a break from the heat of the Queensland sun and you can see some of Australia's tropical bird and wildlife from one of the many walking tracks on that traverse the island.

As well as these natural wonders, Green Island also boasts Marineland Melanesia, a nautical museum and an Underwater Observatory. If you would like to do something a bit more exciting go tandem parasailing or take a trip in a semi-submersible to watch a fish feeding frenzy. Dive trips can also be arranged while you are on the island, and if you are a real adrenaline junkie how about an amazing scenic flight over the reef.

Your friendly crew will arrange for you to either go on a complimentary glass bottom boat cruise so that you can admire the brightly coloured tropical fish and the reef they life in, or if you want to get up close and personal with the fish, giant clams and even turtles then you will be given snorkelling equipment to use for the duration of your stay.

Half day Barron River white water rafting, £65 per person - Enjoy the fun and excitement of rafting through the oldest rainforest on the planet on this half day tour on the Barron River.

Your tour takes you 20 minutes inland from Cairns to the Barron River where you will embark on your white water rafting adventure through breathtaking scenery. The Barron River flows along the Atherton Plateau and through ancient rainforest that flourishes in the Barron Gorge National Park before meeting the sea at Trinity Bay, just north of Cairns.

With over 20 years experience on the Barron River your fully trained guides ensure that you have time to both admire the gorge's pristine rainforest as you float past, as well as get your heart pumping through the white water. Suitable for all fitness levels and in the tropical warm waters of Queensland this is the obvious choice for a white water rafting adventure while in Australia.

Full Day Sydney and Bondi City Tour (48 hour ticket), £40 per person - City Sightseeing makes it easy to explore all the things to do in Sydney. Hop On Hop Off at your leisure and change between the Sydney and Bondi tour at your convenience. There is an abundance of activities and sights to astound and enchant. Discover the Circular Quay, marvel at the Sydney Aquarium or hop off at Woolloomoolloo Bay. The extended Bondi tour now travels past Rose Bay and offers panoramic, hill-top views of Sydney.

Sydney City Sights, Kings Cross & Bondi Beach, £35 per person - The city tour will show you the fast paced style and vibrance of this spectacular city. Tour through the historic Rocks area and take in views of the Opera House, Hyde Park, St Mary’s Cathedral, Parliament House and the Art Gallery before heading under the Harbour Bridge to Mrs MacQuarie’s Chair. Carved from a rock ledge for Governor Lachlan Macquarie's wife, the site affords great views of the harbour and Harbour Bridge. Continue to The Gap where you will be treated to stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and then head to Bondi, Australia’s most famous surf beach. Your tour ends with a drive through the cosmopolitan suburb of Kings Cross, Paddington and the exclusive Eastern Suburbs.

Darling Harbour Experience, £148 per person - The Darling Harbour Experience ticket includes entry into Wild Life Sydney, Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Tower Eye, Captain Cook Cruise, Nick's Bar and Grill, Metro Monorail Day Pass and Madame Tussauds. Also included in this ticket is either lunch or dinner at Nick’s Bar & Grill.

Port Stephens, Nelson Bay Dunes & Dolphins, £120 per person - Head over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and follow the Pacific Coast through magnificent Hawkesbury River Fjord country and enjoy a morning stop at the Australian Reptile Park. Enter ‘Lost World of Reptiles’ and journey into ancient pasts. See platypus, Tasmanian Devils, wombats, friendly kangaroos, cuddly koalas and giant crocodiles. Head to the 'desert by the sea' and enjoy an off-road adventure over the sand dunes in a 4-wheel drive vehicle before searching for wild dolphins on a wonderful discovery cruise.

You'll see all of the iconic sights and tons of other sights you may miss on your own. Expert guides will give you the information you need to get the most out of your trip to Sydney.

Sydney Opera House Guided Backstage Tour, £104 per person - Visit the backstage areas of one of the busiest performing arts centres in the world as it prepares for the upcoming performances. Stand on the Concert Hall stage where some of the world's performing legends, such as Dame Joan Sutherland, Michael Bublé, Pavarotti and Australian Idols have stood. Take up the conductor's baton in the Opera Theatre orchestra pit. Peek inside the dressing rooms of the stars and hear about the secrets and real-life dramas that go on behind the curtain. Breakfast is included in the Green Room - private domain of the performers and staff.

Hunter Valley Winetaster, £110 per person - Cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge and view the magnificent Hawkesbury River. Wander through historic Wollombi and browse among quaint regional shops. Then spend the rest of the day discovering the Hunter Valley and sampling regional wines.  Home to Australia’s oldest wine producing region, the Hunter Valley owes its fame to world class viticulturalists and fertile soils. Enjoy a private wine tasting experience at world renowned Lindemans, then visit Hunter Resort and enjoy a presentation on how the winery operates, a truly informative and educational experience. A delicious luncheon is accompanied by wine tastings – your two-course lunch will be complimented with specially chosen wines. After your lunch you have the chance to to visit Bluetongue Brewery, home of Bluetongue Beer and perhaps try a tasting paddle of the available varities (own expense).
