Itinerary

Day by Day

Day 1 London – Raleigh Durham

Fly from the UK to Raleigh Durham, Carolina. Upon arrival pick up your car from the airport and drive to your hotel. The remainder of your day is free to explore.

Day 2 - Raleigh

Take in some of the local sights or sample one of the many fabulous restaurants. Raleigh is best known for its world-class Museums, best of Broadway shows and live concerts and capital area historic sites, so there really is plenty to do.

Day 3 Raleigh Durham to Outer banks

After breakfast drive the 3 hour drive from Raleigh to  to your next destination, Kitty Hawk. Once you arrive check in to your hotel and have the afternoon at leisure

Day 4 – Outer banks

This morning visit Roanoke Island Festival Park. Learn about early European exploration and board the Elizabeth II, a 69ft sailing Vessel representative if those sailed in the 16th century. Then visit historic Manteo, a 4 block area filled with independently owned shops, eateries and businesses. After lunch, stroll through Elizabethan Gardens, designed as a memorial and complete with a collection of antique statuary.

Day 5 Outer banks to Myrtle Beach

After your stay in Kitty Hawk, Outer Banks, drive on to the next part of your journey. Once you arrive in Myrtle Beach check into your hotel. Myrtle Beach is part of the Grand Strand, a chain of sixty miles of sandy white beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. The area’s Intracoastal Waterway offers one plenty of water sport opportunities including scuba diving, fishing, Kayaking and more. In the evening choose from a multitude of entertainment. The Area has a wide variety of live shows, dinner theatres, concert halls and variety shows.

Day 6 – Myrtle Beach

Spend a full day at Leisure. With over 100 golf courses along the Grand Strand, it’s easy to find a nearby course; take a salt-water deep sea fishing expedition; or take a dolphin watching cruise along the coast. The more adventurous can rent jet skis, go windsurfing, parasailing or scuba diving.

Day 7 Myrtle Beach to Charleston

Today you will drive to the next part of your trip Charleston. Situated on a peninsula, this 340 year old city oozes with Southern and historic significance. A walking or horse-drawn carriage tour of the historic centre offers visitors the chance to get an overview of some of Charleston’s important historical sites such as Fort Sumter, the site upon which the shots initiating the American civil war were fired.

Day 8 Charleston

Today, Visit some of the numerous Plantations and Gardens just outside of Charleston. Moss draped Oak trees align the long road into Boone Hall, which is still a walking plantation. There one can tour the stately home, original slave cabins and beautiful gardens. At Magnolia Plantation one will find the oldest gardens in America which bloom year-round, as well as the original estate, antebellum cabin, nature train and boat and other attractions depicting this pre-Revolutionary War plantation.

Day 9 – Charleston to Savannah

After your cultural 2 night stay in Charleston make your way to Savannah. It’s a beautiful drive through moss-draped trees along the back roads of the Low Country to Savannah. This Afternoon take a trolley tour to see some of Savannah’s hundreds of restored buildings, such as the home to the founder of Girl scouts, Juliette Gordon Low. Walk along River Street this evening and dine on some of the local seafood fare or enjoy the sweet praline treats for which the city is known.

Day 10 Savannah

Today, be sure to stroll through a few of Savannah’s past, Civil war history and learn about Savannah’s past, Civil war history and magnificent buildings  spanning 3 centuries worth of architectural styles. If interested in doing some shopping, City Market and the Bay street area are known for their quaint shops and galleries. The historic District also boasts many quaint fine dining restaurants for a cozy dinner.

Day 11 Savannah to Atlanta

After your 2 night stay here drive the final part of your trip to the city of Atlanta. You will arrive early afternoon so one may want to visit Underground Atlanta. This six block area was once the city centre, During the 1920’s, construction of the concrete “viaducts” elevated the street system to one level, thus giving birth to what is now underground Atlanta. Today it is bustling with activity. Take a guided historic tour or enjoy a variety of Clubs and Restaurants.

Day 12 Atlanta to London

Spend the morning exploring Atlanta from its place in the Civil Rights Movement to the iconic attractions of today. Why not take a drive to the birthplace of Dr.Martin Luther King Junior before dropping your car at the airport, ready for your flight home.

Day 13 London

After your overnight flight arrive safely back into London.
