Day by Day
Day 1 London – Cape Town
Fly overnight from London to Cape Town with Emirates or South African Airways.
Day 2 Cape Town
Once you arrive you have a FREE car to collect for the duration of your stay. Make your way to your hotel where the rest of your day is for you to relax and unwind after your long flight.
Day 3 – 4 Cape Town
Your time in Cape Town is free for you to explore this magnificent city. Get to the top of Table Mountain, go whale watching or even Shark Cage diving for those of you who are brave enough, visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years and take in all the amazing things to do around the Victoria & Albert Waterfront or Camps Bay. We have a range of excursions that can be pre-booked so look at the ‘Things to do’ section for suggestions and prices.
Day 5 Cape Town to Franschhoek
It is only an hour drive to your next accommodation where you will have 2 nights to unwind with a glass of outstanding South African wine and the most stunning scenery
Day 6 Franschhoek
World renowned for its spectacular beauty, superb Cape wines and world class restaurants, the beautiful village of Franschhoek is a definite must-visit destination on any trip to the Western Cape of South Africa. Founded in 1688 by French Huguenots, our scenic gem nestles in a rich and fertile valley, between glorious towering mountains, right in the beautiful Heart of the Cape Winelands.
Day 7 Cape Town to Durban
After your 2 nights in the Winelands its time to drive back to Cape Town airport where you will drop off your car and check in for your flight to Durban. When you arrive in Durban pick up your car and make your way to the Battlefields area for your 3 nights at Fugitives Drift Lodge.
Day 8-9 Fugitives Drift Lodge
Led by the finest guides in South Africa, thought-provoking and often emotionally charged tours are conducted daily to Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift. Walks and horserides through the reserve to view abundant game and birdlife are offered as well as fishing the 20km frontage on the Buffalo River.
The reserve offers a choice of accommodation in either the Lodge or the Guest House, both owned by the Rattrays and both born out of their extensive experience in the hospitality industry. Evident in every corner of Fugitives’ Drift is the Rattrays’ love of South Africa, its people and its unique history.
Both the Lodge and Guest House have spacious and luxurious en-suite cottages which all have private verandahs and broad views over the plains flanking the Buffalo River Gorge. The Lodge and Guest House both have swimming pools set in their colourful, well established gardens which are home to innumerable bird species.
Day 10 Durban to Kruger
Today you will drive back to the airport, drop the car off and check in for your flight direct to Kruger. When you arrive you will be transferred to your lodge ready to start your Safari experience
Day 11 – 12 Lukimbi Safari Lodge
Lukimbi Safari Lodge, situated on a 15 000 hectare private concession in the Southern section of the Kruger National Park, accommodating 32 people in 14 standard, and 2 executive suites with private pools. Rooms are fully equipped with tea & coffee making facilities, mini bars and air-conditioning. En-suite bathrooms feature indoor and outdoor showers. Other facilities include a conference centre, library, private chapel, a gym and swimming pool. Morning and evening game drives are on private roads on the concession and off road viewing is permitted under controlled circumstances. Full day walking safaris are offered during winter months - subject to availability.
Day 13 Kruger to Victoria Falls
Today you have a direct flight from Kruger to Livingstone. When you arrive a transfer will be waiting to pick you up and take you to your final accommodation for the next 3 nights.
Day 14-15 A’Zambezi River Lodge
No trip to Africa is complete without visiting Victoria Falls! Day 16 Livingstone back to London
After 3 enjoyable nights transfer back to the airport ready for your overnight flight home.
Day 17 London
Arrive back in the UK after a fantastic holiday.
