Day 1 London – Phuket

Fly overnight from London to Phuket via Bangkok with Thai Airways

Day 2 Phi Phi Island

Arrive in Phuket and meet your transfer to Phi Phi Island that will include the ferry crossing from Phuket. After you have checked in to your Phi Phi Island hotel the rest of the day is free for you to relax and unwind after your flight from the UK.

Day 3 - 8 Phi Phi Island

Your days at leisure on Phi Phi Island can be spent by simply relaxing on the one of the many white sandy beaches or exploring the many sights of the island. Whilst on the Island of Phuket you can visit several of the other Islands of Thailand such as Phuket and Krabi. You could also take a speedboat trip to Phang Nga Bay which was made famous by the James Bond film ‘The Man with a Golden Gun’. Why not try a one of the adventure hiking trails or take a fishing trip. Phi Phi Island is the ultimate in rest and relaxation but if you want more from your time on the island then there are plenty of activities to choose from.

Day 9 Phi Phi Island – Bangkok

You will be collected from your hotel and transferred back to Phuket airport to catch your direct flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival you’ll have a transfer booed to take you to your Bangkok hotel where the rest of the day is at your own leisure.

Day 10 Bangkok

Today will be spent on your FREE Floating Markets & Bridge on the River Kwai day tour.

Your day commences with a scenic drive through sugar cane fields, rice paddies and pineapple plantations before embarking on an exciting long tail speed-boat ride to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, passing traditional stilt houses and scenes that have changed little over the centuries. Enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of the famous market where you will find hundreds of Thai style canoes laden with fruits, vegetables, sweets and meats. If you want to get really close to the action, your local Thai guide will help you organise a local boat ride through the markets (optional extra, payable locally).

The tour then heads west to Kanchanaburi Province, home to the Bridge on the River Kwai and the infamous ‘Death Railway’ – part of a huge Second World War project to link existing Thai and Burmese railway lines to create a direct route from Bangkok in an effort to support the Japanese occupation of Burma. Thousands of Allied POWs and local labourers lost their lives constructing the bridge and the railway line. Lunch will be taken in a local restaurant before visiting the bridge itself, followed by a visit to the Allied War Grave Cemeteries before hearing the POWs stories at the hauntingly fascinating Death War Museum.

The rest of your afternoon is free to explore the sights of Bangkok

Day 11 Bangkok

Today you can explore Bangkok at your leisure and maybe visit the city’s temples or the Grand Palace. Take a visit to many floating markets or take a trip the Bridge on the River Kwai. You could travel around the city on a Tuk Tuk or just take a stroll through the many different districts of Bangkok. There are also fabulous shops to grab those last minute bargains.

Day 12 Bangkok to London

You will be collected in the morning from your hotel and transferred to Bangkok airport to catch your direct flight home to London.
