For a start, the scenery of this country will blow you away – whether you’re seeing it from any one of the magnificent beaches the Dominican Republic has, or if you’ve taken yourself to one of its dozen national parks. There’s not many places on the planet more romantic as a backdrop than the secluded sands of Eagle Bay, or the 27 waterfalls of the Damajaqua Cascades. And if there is, you’ll probably find it in this country too! Playa Bonita in Las Terrenas and the GriGri Lagoon at Rio San Juan will likely call to you too.

Then there’s fun to be had, whether it’s diving amongst the reefs at Sosua, or paragliding at Jarabacoa, or taking a buggy for a ride at Punta Cana; wildlife to see at the Santo Domingo National Aquarium, or indeed just about anywhere along the coast; nightlife to experience in all the bigger cities, with bars and casinos aplenty, as you drink in the atmosphere of the place.
