This weeklong tour, accompanied by a qualified Egyptologist throughout, is the perfect introduction to the many and varied sites of Egypt. The tour combines a stay in Cairo, home of the pyramids and the Egyptian Museum, with a cruise on the Nile, taking in the famous sights of Upper Egypt, including the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Karnak and the Aswan High Dam.
MY Mirage is a modern and comfortable cruiser. The vessel’s 62 air-conditioned cabins, which include two suites, all feature twin beds, a television, minibar, safety deposit box and en suite bathroom.

Itinerary
Day 1 – To Cairo: Fly from London to Cairo with British Airways. Transfer to the Mercure Cairo Le Sphinx for 2 nights. (N)
Day 2 – Cairo: Morning tour of Giza to see the pyramids and the Sphinx. After lunch, visit the Egyptian Museum, home to the treasures of Tutankhamun’s tomb. (B, L)
Day 3 – To Luxor: Early morning flight to Luxor and transfer to the MY Mirage for a 4-night cruise. Afternoon visit to the temples of Luxor and Karnak, the largest ancient religious site in the world. Stay overnight in Luxor (B, L, D)
Day 4 – To Edfu: Morning visit to the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Sail to Esna and pass through the lock. Continue to Edfu and stay overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 5 – To Aswan: Morning visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Afternoon cruise to Kom Ombo and visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris. Late evening sail to Aswan and overnight stay. (B, L, D)
Day 6 – Aswan: This morning, visit the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. This afternoon, take a felucca trip on the Nile. Stay overnight in Aswan. (B, L, D)
Day 7 – To Cairo: Disembark this morning. Optional visit to Abu Simbel (payable in advance – please request at the time of booking). Fly to Cairo and stay overnight at the Sonesta Hotel, Tower & Casino, Cairo. (B)
