CesmeÇeşme (pronounced CHESH-MEH) lies 80 km west of Izmir on Turkey's Aegean coast and is under an hour’s drive from Izmir's International Airport via a new 6 lane motorway. The name Çeşme is derived from the Turkish word for water fountain and to this day there are many fresh water springs to be found. This whole area has always been a popular summer resort for the residents of nearby Izmir (the third largest city in Turkey) and over recent years a small number of European tourists have been attracted to Çeşme for its unique rich cosmopolitan Turkish atmosphere.
The whole Çeşme peninsula is a combination of rich agricultural land enclosing unspoiled turquoise bays with beaches of fine white sand and on its northern coast it is internationally famous for its natural hot water springs.
OzdereOzdere is on the South West coast of Turkey beside the beautiful Aegean Sea. Originally Ozdere was known as an "original fishing village" un-spoilt by mass tourism. Since about 10 years Ozdere has developed into a popular holiday destination.
Ozdere is a quieter resort and still retains its un-spoilt charm. It has a mild climate during the whole year which makes it perfect for a holiday any time of the year. The village of Ozdere is very suitable for families with children because there are miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches with shallow crystal clear waters which remains at knee depth up to 30 meters from the beach making it safe for young children and non-swimmers. Ozdere is also very suitable for couples and friends wishing for a peaceful, relaxed holiday.
There is an excellent choice of shops, restaurants and bars in the town of Ozdere. The bars and restaurants offer a variety of food from family run restaurants to international cuisine and are perfect for a relaxing evening with friends and family. There are wonderful fish restaurants which overlook the bay, which can be reached within a 10 minute walk. Mandarin plantations and a coastline with forests and rough nature characterize this resort.
