Perched high on the mountains of Andalucia is the ancient city of Ronda where the Celts, Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs have left a great historical legacy. This is the birthplace of bullfighting which can still be seen there today although only once a year at the Feria Goyesca, which is held at the beginning of September. One the most spectacular sights in Ronda is the El Tajo gorge and visitors head for the Puente Nuevo ‘new bridge’, which spans the 100m chasm, for stunning views out over the Serrania de Ronda Mountains.
