The Garden Route has been said to be the Cape’s finest treasure and a visit to the 230 kilometre (140 mile) stretch of unspoilt sands, rugged cliffs, wild flowers and inland waters will give evidence to this tribute. The roads that lead from Mossel Bay to the Tsitsikamma forests are watched over by the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountain ranges, lined with breathtaking collections of lagoons, coves and cliffs and lapped by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. The Garden Route is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life and is also a leisure playground, with attractions including water-skiing, boating, diving, paragliding, fishing, swimming and surfing.
