This is the largest and most visited gallery in Venice. Visitors are taken on a journey through five centuries of Venetian art. The collection is arranged for the most part chronologically, from the medieval Byzantine period, through the early and high Renaissance and finally to the Baroque and Rococo periods. The small paintings in rooms 4 and 5 are some of the finest in the collection, and the larger canvases by Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese in room 10 should not be missed either.
