The Valley of the Butterflies is located 20km from the airport of Rhodes and near to the village of Kalamonas. This unique national park attracts thousands of multi coloured butterflies from June to September.
This valley is lush and green with a small river running through it. The area is beautifully designed with little wooden bridges, stone steps and an uphill path which leads to the Monastery of the Virgin of Kalopetra. The park is a very pleasant place to walk, under the shade of the trees and the coolness from the flowing water makes it a small haven even during the hot summer days.
