Corfu Town

This beautiful town is very interesting because there was a heavy influence of the Venetians who for centuries controlled the island. You will find cobbled streets filled with history and where sShops spill out onto the street, taking you back many years. There is an area called the Liston which is filled with bars and cafes and where the locals sit and watch the world go by. In Corfu town there is St Spiridons church and it is here that the patron saint of the island, St Spiridon’s body was mummified and is paraded around the streets on religious festivals.
