Sydney has so many diverse attractions, with one of them being its beaches. There are numerous beaches that are just ideal in their unrefined state, however there are several that offer a few extras such as espresso bars, spas, surf lessons and even the chance to watch dolphins. Bondi Beach is probably the most celebrated beach in Australia with over a kilometre of golden sands. This is the place to be seen and there is a vibrant cafe and restaurant culture too. Manly Beach is a favourite with Sydneysiders and is around 15km by car from the centre of Sydney or alternatively a 30 minute ferry trip from Circular Quay.
There are so many things to see and areas to explore in Sydney that you literally will not be able to stand still. The city is centred around Circular Quay which is within walking distance of Sydney’s main attractions like the Harbour Bridge which was opened in 1932 and Sydney Opera House, which is described as a 20th century architectural masterpiece.
The city centre, around Pitt Street Mall and George Street, has some of the best shopping complexes where you can buy everything from designer clothes, electrical goods, music and various Australian souvenirs. The area known as The Rocks is another part of Sydney where you can find a nice line in tourist friendly souvenirs. If you are interested in local markets then you need to visit either the Paddington Village Bazaar or the Rocks market, but be warned, they get very very busy at the weekends.
The nightlife in Sydney can be described as diverse, vibrant and great fun! Whether you are looking for just a few cold beers, fine dining or night out on the dance floor, Sydney has it covered. Darling Harbour is a great place to out after dark, with lively bars, delicious restaurants and top night clubs, this is a buzzing harbour side entertainment area. Other areas such as Oxford Street, Paddington and Kings Cross offer huge mix of bars and restaurants too from slick and chic to spit and sawdust.
